28-Year-Old Businesswoman, Resident of Nerópolis (GO), Received Pix of Almost R$ 49 Thousand by Mistake and Faced Long Banking Bureaucracy Until She Managed to Return the Money to the True Owner
Resident of Nerópolis, Goiás, businesswoman and influencer Isabela Bosco, 28, went through an unusual situation last year. While working at her clothing store, she received a notification on her phone that a Pix had been deposited into her account.
What seemed like a common sale quickly caught her attention: the amount was R$ 48,799.78. Not expecting any transaction of this type, Isabela quickly realized that the money had been sent by mistake.
The Search for the Sender
As soon as she identified the error, the businesswoman tried to return the amount. “I already tried to refund it automatically, but my bank blocked it because my account is MEI [individual microentrepreneur]. And MEI is complicated, because this amount was deposited very high in one day, so it ended up being blocked,” she said.

Using the information from the receipt, she found the company from where the transfer originated online. She contacted the office and requested a callback. The next morning, at 10 a.m., she was already at the bank to resolve the situation.
“He called me right away, desperate about this money that was sent to another account. I said: ‘I’m already at the bank, I’m resolving it. Everything will be fine, you can relax,” Isabela reported.

Bureaucracy and Patience to Return the Pix by Mistake
Despite her good intentions, the process was time-consuming. The businesswoman explained that she tried to contact the bank’s customer service but spoke to five representatives without a solution.
“They gave me a protocol number and asked me to go to the agency to talk to the manager. And that’s what I did,” she said.
The in-person service also required patience. “I spent about an hour and a half at the bank trying to resolve it. In fact, I even had to pay in order to transfer this amount to him. We tried everything, they even had to adjust my limit at the bank. They made several adjustments,” she recalled.
The fee charged for the return, made via TED transfer, was R$ 21.90. Even so, Isabela stated that she felt relieved. “It was a somewhat tiring process, but just having it in the hands of the rightful owner is important to me.”
Gratitude and Principles
After the amount was returned, the owner of the money, a resident of São Paulo, sent a voice message to thank the businesswoman for her effort and honesty.
Isabela, in turn, assured that she never thought of keeping the money. “I would never keep this money. It would only thrive in the hands of its owner and truly return where it should,” she stated.
“It’s more than my obligation to return this money to him because it’s the fruit of his labor. I was raised well. Thank God, my principles are above anything else. My family is a family of strong principles and raised us with great skill,” she concluded.
