Position Role – Essential Responsibilities
The professional will be responsible for critical activities that ensure quality, safety, and accuracy during the collection and transport of biological samples. Among the main duties:
• Attend to patients with empathy and a humanized approach
• Perform blood collection and other biological samples
• Guide and prepare patients for each type of collection
• Organize materials, supplies, and work environment
• Check identification, integrity, and validity of samples
• Refuse samples without proper identification or those outside of standards
• Register patients in the LIS Net system
• Monitor collection prescriptions
• Transport samples using proper cases
• Clean the cases and materials used
• Fill out quality control, temperature, and traceability records
• Organize cabinets, boxes, and workstations
• Forward documents and samples to internal departments
• Report incidents to coordination
• Comply with biosafety regulations, PGRSS, and institutional protocols
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of institutional data
