Check Out Below the Technologies Equipped in the Interior of the New Kia SUV
The first difference we notice in the new Kia Sorento SUV is a certain influence from the electric SUV EV9 on this model. Thus, it incorporates daytime running lights in a T shape, and the air intakes of the bumper follow a format similar to the new vertical LED headlights.
The rest of the body remains practically unchanged, except for the redesigned rear bumper featuring new Kia badges and slightly reworked LED taillights now with connected clusters. Additionally, the manufacturer introduced a new design for the alloy wheels and a selection of new exterior colors to complement the updated overall look of the new Kia Sorento SUV.

The big news, however, is in the interior, specifically the dashboard, which is completely new and follows the style of the brand’s latest models, with a dual 2.3-inch screen—one for instrumentation and another for the infotainment system. The latter is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly and is permanently connected to the Internet to receive remote updates.
New South Korean Model Features Digital Biometrics
Regarding safety, highlights include digital key technology, a digital rearview mirror, and an updated front collision avoidance assistance system.
Speaking of the latter, the brand emphasizes that the new 2024 Kia Sorento SUV has 10 standard advanced driver assistance systems. The front collision warning with automatic emergency braking has been improved to detect cyclists and pedestrians and can help prevent collisions when turning left at an intersection.
The list also includes lane departure assist, lane-keeping assist, and a new feature of the intelligent adaptive cruise control system that learns your driving style concerning acceleration and braking.
The technological deployment of the new Kia Sorento SUV does not stop here, and one of the biggest innovations of the Korean model is the inclusion, for the first time, of fingerprint recognition. This system allows linking the vehicle to the owner through the knowledge of their fingerprint, so only they can start and drive it.
New Kia Sorento SUV Could Come to Brazil?
Under the hood, the new Kia Sorento SUV is equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine either naturally aspirated or turbocharged. In the first case, the power is 194 horsepower and 24.9 kgfm of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
In the case of the turbo engine, the power increases to 285 horsepower and 42.9 kgfm of torque paired with an eight-speed DCT transmission. There are also hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions with a 1.6 Turbo engine combined with an electric motor producing 230 and 265 horsepower, respectively.
Customers can also obtain an optional all-wheel drive system. The electrified hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions arrived in the United States at the end of the year to be sold as 2025 models. In Brazil, the Gandini group, responsible for the brand’s importation, has already confirmed its intention to bring the model to the Brazilian market, but no date has been set for the model’s launch.
