The New Tiggo 5X Is Already Undergoing Tests In Brazil With Strong Camouflage And Launch Expected In 2026. Compact SUV Will Have Updated Design, Technological Interior And Hybrid Options.
The compact SUV market in Brazil is expected to gain a significant boost in 2026. The new Tiggo 5X, a model from CAOA Chery, was spotted testing in the interior of São Paulo. Even under heavy camouflage, it is already possible to notice significant changes in the appearance, bringing the car closer to the latest identity of the automaker.
Just as with the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8, the Tiggo 5X will adopt modern and striking lines. The front headlights, now slimmer and fully LED, stand out in conjunction with the new front grille.
At the rear, the taillights are now interconnected by a light bar, a solution that reinforces the sophistication already seen in the brand’s larger models.

The transformations do not stop at the exterior design. Inside, the Tiggo 5X will bring one of the most anticipated changes by consumers.

The instrument panel will be integrated into a wide panoramic screen that connects directly to the multimedia center.
This layout has already been adopted in other global models from the brand and reinforces the pursuit of technology and connectivity.
In addition to the visual appeal, the proposal is to offer a more modern driving experience, with assistance systems and digital features integrated into the vehicle.
Known Mechanics And Light Hybrid Version
In terms of mechanics, the expectation is that the Tiggo 5X will maintain the well-known setups in the Brazilian market. The 1.5 turbo flex engine will continue to be available, paired with the CVT transmission that simulates nine gears.
Another highlight is the continuation of the light hybrid version, called Pro Hybrid, which combines the 1.5 turbo engine with up to 160 hp and a 48-Volt electric system.
This configuration aims to balance performance and efficiency, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
Intense Competition In The Compact SUV Segment
The launch of the revamped Tiggo 5X is only expected for 2026.
Until then, the model will need to prepare to face strong rivals. The Honda WR-V and Toyota Yaris Cross will enter the market later this year, which will raise the level of competition in the compact SUV segment.
In addition to them, the Volkswagen T-Cross and Hyundai Creta remain as established leaders and strong direct competitors.
Current Prices Of The Tiggo 5X In Brazil
While the new generation does not arrive, the Tiggo 5X continues to be offered in the national market with prices varying according to the version.
Today, the lineup is available for R$ 119,990 in the Sport configuration, equipped with the 1.5 turbo flex engine. The Pro Hybrid version, with micro-hybrid technology, reaches R$ 149,990.
These prices reinforce CAOA Chery’s strategy to keep the SUV competitive within a price range that attracts both consumers looking for a more affordable model and those wishing to invest in hybrid technologies.
