The Ministry of Education (MEC) has just announced the opening of 15,000 spots for the free online course (EAD) on Neuroscience Applied to Education. The initiative aims to train teachers and education professionals, providing knowledge on how the brain learns and how to apply these concepts to improve pedagogical practices.

Neuroscience in Education

Neuroeducation, an interdisciplinary field that combines neuroscience, psychology, and pedagogy, has demonstrated the positive impact of strategies based on brain function. By understanding how the brain processes information, educators can optimize the teaching-learning process, increasing content retention, reducing school dropout, and improving students’ academic performance.

Comprehensive and Flexible Content

With a workload of 200 hours, the free online course (EAD) is divided into five main modules:

  • Introduction to Neuroscience Applied to Education
  • Neuroscience and Early Childhood Education
  • Neuroscience in Elementary Education
  • Neuroscience in High School Education
  • Neuroscience in Youth and Adult Education (EJA)

Classes are 100% online, allowing participants to study at their own pace, without the need for academic prerequisites.

Who Can Participate?

The free online course (EAD) is intended for educators of all teaching levels, including:

  • Teachers of Early Childhood, Elementary, and High School
  • Instructors of Youth and Adult Education (EJA)
  • Pedagogical coordinators and school managers
  • Education professionals who wish to update their methodologies

Benefits of Neuroscience in Educational Practice

The application of neuroscience in education brings several benefits, such as:

  • Improvement of students’ attention and concentration
  • Stimulating interest and engagement in classes
  • Reduction of school dropout
  • Enhancement of learning and retention of knowledge

Enrollment for the Free Course

Enrollment for the free online course (EAD) on Neuroscience Applied to Education is now open and can be done through the AVAMEC platform of the MEC. Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, without a selection process.
