Oppo has confirmed that the Find X9 Ultra will be launched globally on April 21 with a Hasselblad quad-camera system, 10x optical zoom, and a 300 mm external teleconverter, making this the first Ultra model of the brand to debut simultaneously in China and the global market.
Oppo has officially revealed the details of the Find X9 Ultra, the smartphone that the brand positions as its most ambitious photographic device to date. The device features a quad-camera system developed in partnership with Hasselblad, including two 200-megapixel sensors and native optical zoom of up to 10x, with a focal length equivalent to 230 mm. The global launch is confirmed for April 21, 2026.
What makes this launch even more relevant is the distribution strategy. For the first time in the history of the Ultra line, Oppo will debut simultaneously in China and international markets on the same day. According to TudoCelular, until now, Ultra models first reached the Chinese market and took months to reach other countries. The change signals that the brand wants to compete directly with Samsung and Apple in the global premium segment.
Four cameras and two 200 MP sensors: what the Find X9 Ultra delivers

The photographic system of the Find X9 Ultra is built around what Oppo calls the Hasselblad Master Camera System.

The main camera uses a Sony LYT-901 200 MP sensor with a size of 1/1.12 inches and an aperture of f/1.5, dimensions that approach the one-inch sensors used in dedicated compact cameras. Next to it, there is a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a focal length of 70 mm.
Completing the set, the Find X9 Ultra features a second 50 MP periscope telephoto lens dedicated to 10x optical zoom, with a focal length of 230 mm, and a 50 MP ultrawide camera with a Sony LYT-600 sensor.
The system covers a focal range from 14 mm to 230 mm without resorting to digital zoom, something that few smartphones on the market can offer. The front camera has also received an upgrade, with a 50 MP sensor. The entire setup supports video recording in 8K resolution.
The Hasselblad Earth Explorer Kit: when the smartphone becomes a professional camera
In addition to the built-in cameras, Oppo introduced the Hasselblad Earth Explorer Master Set, an external photography kit that transforms the Find X9 Ultra into something that looks and functions like a compact professional camera.
The package includes a case with an ergonomic grip in the shape of an analog camera, a dedicated mount, and the Hasselblad Professional 300 mm teleconverter.
The teleconverter attaches to the 3x periscope camera and applies a magnification of approximately 4.28 times, raising the focal length from 70 mm to 300 mm, equivalent to a 13x zoom with the quality of a 200 MP sensor.
The difference compared to the built-in 10x zoom lies precisely in the sensor size: while the native 10x telephoto uses a 50 MP chip and 1/2.75-inch, the teleconverter works with the 200 MP sensor and 1/1.28-inch, which captures significantly more light and detail. The kit will be exclusive to the version with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, in the Earth Tundra color.
Design inspired by the Hasselblad X2D and three color options
The design of the Find X9 Ultra was created to reinforce the photographic identity of the device. The rear camera module is circular and large, with an internal octagonal design and the Hasselblad brand embossed, in a style that deliberately resembles the body of a Swedish camera.
The back panel varies according to the color: the Earth Tundra version features a texture that mimics leather with a two-tone finish, while Polar Glacier (white) and Velvet Sand Canyon (orange) have a matte finish with geometric patterns.
Pre-release reviews from journalists who had access to the Find X9 Ultra before launch described the design as the most beautiful among smartphones of 2026.
The device also features a dedicated button on the right side, likely for quick access to the camera app, following a trend adopted by competitors like Apple and Sony in recent years.
Complete specifications: processor, battery, and screen of the Find X9 Ultra
Underneath the photography setup, the Find X9 Ultra boasts top specifications across all categories.
The processor is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the most powerful chip available for Android in 2026, accompanied by up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage that reaches 1 TB.
The display is a flat 6.78-inch OLED panel with a 2K resolution (3,168 x 1,440 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz.
The 7,050 mAh battery is the largest ever placed in an Oppo flagship, with support for 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The device runs Android 16 under the ColorOS 16 interface, features an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the display, and has IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications for water and dust resistance.
Global launch on April 21: what changes in Oppo’s strategy
The decision to launch the Find X9 Ultra simultaneously in China and globally represents a significant shift in the brand’s strategy.
Previous models in the Ultra line were restricted to the Chinese market for months before reaching other countries, allowing competitors like Samsung and Apple to dominate the premium segment uncontested during that time.
With the global launch on April 21, the Find X9 Ultra arrives in the market ahead of the anticipated Galaxy S27 Ultra and iPhone 17, positioning Oppo ahead of its main rivals in the race for the photographic flagships of 2026.
In the Chinese market, pre-orders are already open, with configurations ranging from 12 GB/256 GB to 16 GB/1 TB. Alongside the Ultra, the brand will also introduce the Find X9s Pro, a compact model that will be exclusive to China.
A real competitor for Samsung and Apple in the Ultra segment
The Find X9 Ultra enters a market where Xiaomi and Vivo already offer smartphones with external teleconverters and ultra-high-resolution cameras.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra bets on the partnership with Leica, while the Vivo X300 Ultra presents its own advanced lens kit. Oppo’s response with the Hasselblad branding and the 300 mm system aims to capture the audience that treats mobile photography as a professional tool, not just a casual resource.
For most users, the built-in 10x optical zoom and the two 200 MP cameras already cover practically any daily use scenario.
The external 300 mm kit is for that 1% of situations that require extreme reach, such as nature photography, sports, or astronomy. But it is precisely this ambition that sets the Find X9 Ultra apart: no other smartphone offers such optical flexibility in a single device.
And you, do you believe that a smartphone with a professional lens kit can replace a dedicated camera? Does the Find X9 Ultra convince as a photographic tool or is it an extravagance for the wallet? Leave your opinion in the comments.
