Rivian R1X Pickup Has Some Data Revealed! The Ford Raptor Rival Can Deliver a Range of 800 km and 1,000 Horsepower.
Rivian has brought to the automotive market its R3 and R3X models, which emerged following the R2, which ended up being overshadowed by the smaller brothers. However, the manufacturer from Normal, Illinois, does not intend to stop there and is preparing a Rivian R1X. Derived from the R1T, Rivian’s new pickup features a more radical design and a proposal similar to that of the Ford Raptor F-150, for example.
Considered a high-end model by Rivian, this pickup, which arrives to compete with the Ford Raptor, was seen in industrial design at the USPTO, the U.S. patent office. In the images released by the Rivian Owners forum, the Rivian R1X appears with a more expressive front, featuring sturdier lines, highlighting the fenders and the prominently designed front bumper with two overbumpers.
In addition to enormous wheels with large lugs on the tires, the Rivian R1X will have a different bed, with aesthetic elements on the sides and a compartment with a lid that can function as a table.

New Rivian R1X Pickup Can Deliver 1,000 Horsepower
The traditional transverse compartment between bed and cabin features its lid transformed into a seat. Other images describe how the open compartments look, in addition to other technically undescribed details.
The expectation is that the Rivian R1X will have at least 1,000 horsepower and thus can compete with the GMC Hummer and Ford Raptor. With all this horsepower, its lithium batteries would need to have between 150 kWh and 200 kWh. This could lead to a range of at least 800 km, which would greatly help in off-road situations and in enhanced capabilities, such as the ability to turn around its own axis.

It is unknown when the brand plans to launch the R3 and R3X, but a competitor to the Ford Raptor could improve the schedule until the models arrive. The company has ambitious growth plans for the coming years, and expanding its lineup is essential for this, especially the smaller and more affordable R2.
Rivian Develops New Fuel Cell
Rivian surprised not only by revealing the highly anticipated R2 Electric SUV at a starting price of just US$ 45,000 but also by showing a new battery cell. The cell is called 4695 due to its diameter of 46 mm and height of 95 mm. Specifications have not yet been detailed; however, it is considerably larger than Tesla’s 4680 cells, which could mean a lot.
As battery cells get larger, their voltage does not change unless the chemistry changes, and it is more likely that Rivian is using the conventional lithium-ion chemistry. This increases the cell’s amp-hour rating, which means that 4695 contains more energy than 4680.
