The Bahia Penitentiary Police Announced on Thursday, June 13, the Opening of Registrations for Its New Public Competition, Offering a Total of 287 Immediate Vacancies for High School Candidates.
The eagerly awaited competition includes opportunities for general competition, as well as reserved spots for people with disabilities and self-declared Black candidates.
Those interested in participating in the competition must have a high school diploma issued by an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC), in addition to being at least 18 years old and holding a valid National Driver’s License (CNH), at least category B.
The starting salaries offered vary according to the weekly workload. For the position of Penitentiary Agent, the initial remuneration is R$ 2,601.04 for 30 hours a week, potentially reaching up to R$ 4,478.31 for 40 hours a week, including specific bonuses.

How the Selection Process Will Work
The selection process will be divided into several stages. The first will consist of objective tests, which will be eliminatory and classificatory, with a total of 80 multiple-choice questions covering Basic Knowledge and Specific Knowledge.
Candidates will also be evaluated through a written test, which will require the drafting of a argumentative essay on current topics.
Where the Exams of the Competition Will Take Place
The exams will be held in several cities in the state of Bahia, such as Salvador, Feira de Santana, and Vitória da Conquista, in the afternoon. To be approved, candidates will need to score at least 48 points in the objective test and 12 points in the written test.
In addition to the written evaluations, there will be additional steps such as Heteroidentification Procedure for candidates competing for reserved spots for Black individuals and Medical Examination for candidates with disabilities.
Those approved in these stages will be called for Pre-Admission Exams, which include medical examinations, physical tests, psychological assessments, and social investigation, followed by the Training Course.

How and Where to Register
Registrations will be open from June 17 to July 18, through the portal of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), the organizing body of the competition. To validate the registration, it is necessary to pay a fee of R$ 90.
After the final results of the competition are homologated and the approved candidates within the stipulated number of vacancies are called, they will begin the Training Course as Trainee Agents, preparing to take on the responsibilities of the Penitentiary Agent position.
