Brazilian Imports Grow In Volume And Variety
Brazil recorded a trade surplus of an impressive US$ 19.08 billion in the first quarter of 2024, marking a 22.2% increase compared to the same period last year. These numbers are a clear indication that the Brazilian economy continues to expand its presence on the global stage.
Helmuth Hofstatter, CEO and founder of Logcomex, highlights that there was a modest increase of 6.5% in the quantity of products imported by Brazil. He also reported that the total weight of imported products reached over 40 billion kilograms. However, the average price of these products saw a reduction of 4%, with the FOB value for the quarter reaching US$ 59.2 billion, which also reflects a slight decrease of 2% compared to 2023.
Details Of Imported Products
Among the most imported items are gas oil (diesel), notably with its NCM code 27101921, followed by crude petroleum oils and other potassium chlorides.
