Want to Boost Your Career Without Spending Anything? UFRB Offers a Free Online Specialization for Teachers in 2025! With Limited Spots Available, This Is Your Chance to Enhance Your Skills in Science Teaching and Stand Out in Education. Applications Open Until March 10. Don’t Miss This Unique Opportunity!

The Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB) announced the opening of applications for the specialization “Science is 10!”, a 100% Online course aimed at transforming the teaching of sciences in schools, ensuring a more dynamic, modern, and effective learning experience.

This is an unmissable opportunity for licensed teachers and educators in basic and higher education who wish to specialize in the scientific field.

With 493 hours of coursework and a duration of three semesters, the course is completely free and will be offered in the Distance Education (EaD) modality, allowing participants to study at their own pace and from wherever they are.

What Will Teachers Learn?

The specialization offers a comprehensive training program to broaden the pedagogical repertoire of educators teaching sciences, with a series of curriculum components focused on innovative teaching methodologies. Among the main subjects of the course are:

✔️ Science is 10! An Introduction: An introduction to the course and its main objectives, providing a solid foundation for what is to come.
✔️ Investigation for Science Teaching: How to make scientific investigation an effective tool in the teaching-learning process.
✔️ Investigation Project in the Classroom: Strategies to develop and implement investigation projects that encourage scientific curiosity among students.
✔️ Research Project Fundamentals: The course provides a practical and theoretical approach on how to structure research projects and make them applicable in the school context.

These and other subjects have been carefully planned to empower teachers to improve the quality of education in scientific areas, stimulating the development of critical thinking and scientific curiosity among students.

The course is not just a professional update, but a true transformation in the way sciences are taught.

Who Can Enroll?

The course is aimed at licensed teachers who are currently teaching or will be teaching in the classroom during the 2025 school year, across various areas of education.

If you are an educator in basic or higher education seeking improvement in your area of expertise, this opportunity is for you.

Furthermore, UFRB has established reserved spots for historically underrepresented groups, reaffirming its commitment to inclusion and diversity.

Reserved spots will be for Black people, Indigenous people, quilombolas, people with disabilities, transgender individuals, and technical staff from the university itself.

This movement aims to make education more accessible for everyone and ensure that teacher training is reflective and respectful of the plurality of Brazilian society.

If you are a teacher from any public or private institution, have a degree in education, and wish to specialize in the field of sciences, this is your moment.

Additionally, if you already have teaching experience in public or private schools and intend to continue teaching in 2025, you can also apply for the selection process.

How Will the Selection Process Work?

The selection for the specialization course will be rigorous, ensuring that only the most qualified candidates are approved.

UFRB has formed a specialized committee to evaluate the candidates, who will be ranked based on a detailed analysis of the following criteria:

Candidate’s Academic Background (up to 15 points) — The educational qualifications of each candidate will be taken into consideration, and it is essential that the candidates have the appropriate training for the course.
Teaching Experience in the Last 5 Years (up to 30 points) — The practical experience of each educator in the classroom will be a determining factor for approval.
Proven Teaching Activity in 2025 (20 points) — The selection will prioritize teachers who already have contracts signed to teach in the year 2025.
Statement of Intent, Highlighting the Candidate’s Objectives (35 points) — Candidates will need to write a letter explaining their motivations to participate in the course and how they plan to apply the knowledge gained in their pedagogical practice.

After the scoring, candidates will be classified in descending order, respecting the distribution of spots by UAB/CAPES poles and the modalities of reserved spots.

The evaluation will consider each teacher’s potential to apply the methodologies acquired in the course in their schools, thereby promoting quality and transformative education.

How to Enroll?

Enrollment for the selection process must be done exclusively online by March 10, 2025. Interested candidates should access the Integrated System for Academic Activity Management (SIGAA) to fill out the enrollment form and submit the documents required in the announcement.

Don’t miss this opportunity to transform your teaching practice and contribute to a more dynamic and effective science education!

By enrolling, you are not only investing in your career but also in the future of Brazilian education.

Prepare to be part of a course that can change your way of teaching and positively impact your students.
