Have you ever thought about entering the electric sector or information technology with free and promising training courses?

In Rio de Janeiro, A Light has just announced a new round of opportunities that could open doors for solid and well-paying careers.

With 160 positions available, the program offers training in Electricity and Data Analysis, at no cost, starting in January 2024. But, attention: registrations are open only until November 12.

A Light, in partnership with the Colégio 1º de Maio, in Maracanã, and with the National Service of Industrial Learning (Senai), aims to train professionals ready to act in the job market.

According to the company itself, the courses are open to both men and women interested in building a career in this strategic and growing sector.

Throughout the training, students will have access to transportation and snacks for greater convenience and encouragement.

Complete Training in Electricity and Data

The program divides the vacancies into two categories. 80 positions are allocated for electrician training and another 80 for data analysts.

Both courses combine theoretical and practical classes, scheduled in the evenings, from 6 PM to 10 PM, facilitating access for those who already have other activities during the day.

The first classes will start from January 13, 2024.

For those interested in becoming electricians, the training will consist of 208 hours, spread over three months.

During this period, students will learn Basic Electricity concepts, as well as safety regulations such as NR-10 (Safety in Electrical Installations and Services), NR-35 (Work at Heights), and NR-33 (Confined Spaces).

This course includes a practical module at Light’s own facilities, offering direct hands-on experience with equipment and real procedures from the sector.

For the data analysis course, students will undergo 160 hours of training in essential tools such as Excel and Power BI.

The program aims to prepare professionals to work with the creation and interpretation of graphs, tables, and reports fundamental in managing large volumes of data.

Theoretical classes will be taught at the Senai Training Centers.

Initiative Reinforces Light’s Social Commitment

A Light reaffirms its social commitment to the economic development of Rio de Janeiro.

Since the first edition of the course was launched in 2023, the company has already trained 14 electricians, all hired by the distributor after completing the training.

According to Adriana Queiroz, People and Culture Manager at Light, the project focuses on expanding job opportunities and promoting the inclusion of women in the sector.

“A Light seeks to contribute directly to the socioeconomic development of Rio. Offering training and opportunities is a way to accomplish this. We will open new classes throughout the next year, and some sessions will be exclusive for women,” explains Adriana Queiroz.

The Trajectory of Beatriz: Example of Success and Inspiration

Beatriz Cavallini, one of the first graduates of the Light electrician course, highlights how the initiative transformed her career. Currently employed by the company, Beatriz discusses the importance of including women in a historically male sector and celebrates the diversity promoted by Light.

“A Light opened the doors to my career as an electrician, offering quality and free training. Today, I proudly work at the company, operating in a traditionally male area. We, women, are taking our place. It is gratifying to be part of a company that values diversity and allows me to build a solid career,” shares Beatriz.
