Applications Open for Free Distance Technical Courses (EAD) in Administration and Geoprocessing at the Federal Institute
The Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA), through the São Raimundo das Mangabeiras Campus, is accepting applications for free distance technical courses (EAD) in the areas of Administration and Geoprocessing. The notice No. 12/2024 provides for the offer of 270 spots, distributed among different centers in the state of Maranhão. These courses, aimed at those who have completed high school, represent an excellent opportunity to obtain technical qualification in an accessible and flexible way.
The Technical Course in Administration aims to prepare professionals to act in the management of administrative processes in various sectors, both public and private. Students will be trained in areas such as planning, control, and execution of administrative activities. The Technical Course in Geoprocessing focuses on training for the use of spatial analysis technologies, with an emphasis on the treatment of geographic data for mapping and territorial analysis. Both courses have 80% of their workload in the distance modality, complemented by 20% of in-person activities, such as forums, seminars, and evaluations at the support centers.
Distribution of Spots and Locations
The 270 spots offered are equally distributed among the centers of Coroatá, Colinas, Loreto, Nina Rodrigues, Paraibano, Presidente Sarney, São Benedito do Rio Preto, and Sucupira do Norte. Each center provides 30 spots per course, with opportunities for broad competition and specific groups, such as public school students, people with disabilities, and quilombolas, ensuring an inclusive offer.

Selection Process and Inclusion Policies
The selection process will be conducted through an electronic draw, scheduled for November 4, 2024. The notice includes affirmative actions, reserving spots for self-declared black, brown, indigenous candidates, as well as people with disabilities. Candidates wishing to compete through quotas must present the required documentation, as detailed in the notice, including a photo for the heteroidentification phase in the case of black, brown, or indigenous candidates.
Participation Requirements
To participate in the selection, candidates must have completed high school and have access to a computer and internet, as classes will predominantly occur online. Applications must be made through an electronic form on the IFMA website, and it is necessary to attach the requested documentation. The application deadline ends on October 18, 2024.
