The Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, has opened registrations for the basic training course in literary writing “Territories of Writing.” This free course offers 1,000 spots for individuals specifically focused on developing writing skills, with an emphasis on training and ongoing education for writers. The training will take place online, with support from renowned teachers and writers.
The course “Territories of Writing” aims to cultivate creativity and the development of writing techniques, including character creation, plots, and dialogues. Throughout the training, participants will explore different literary genres, such as short stories, chronicles, poetry, and dramatic texts. The course is fully online and consists of 120 hours of activities, distributed among classes, forums, and interactive seminars to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
Available Spots and Offering Locations
There are 1,000 spots for this online course, which can be filled by people from all over Brazil. The training will be conducted through a digital platform, where 50 groups will be made available, each with 20 students and a monitor responsible for overseeing the students’ development. At the end of the course, 100 students with the best performance will be selected to receive a scholarship of R$ 2,000.00, aimed at completing a literary work.

Selection Process and Affirmative Actions

Additionally, one extra point will be awarded in the final score to candidates from the Central-West, North, and Northeast regions, aiming to ensure regional diversity among participants.
Requirements for Registration for the Free Course
Individuals aged 18 or older who are interested in developing their writing skills can register. Access to the internet and a computer is necessary to attend online classes. Furthermore, it is required to fill out the registration questionnaire and submit the requested documents for analysis.
