According to Edson Silva, audio manager at Samsung Brazil, the project considered research conducted with Brazilian consumers to identify usage habits, power preferences, and the most requested functionalities in this segment.
Differences Between Sound Tower ST50F and ST40F
The Sound Tower ST50F is presented as the most powerful model in the line.
Samsung states that the speaker delivers 240W of power and can achieve up to 18 hours of playback on battery, depending on usage conditions.
The audio set includes dual 6.5-inch woofers and dual 25-millimeter dome tweeters.
In terms of physical design, the ST50F features a telescopic handle and rubberized wheels.
According to the company, these elements were included to facilitate transportation in outdoor environments and frequent relocations.

The Sound Tower ST40F, on the other hand, occupies the middle position in the line.
The declared power is 160W, with an estimated autonomy of up to 12 hours.
The sound system includes dual 5.25-inch woofers and 20-millimeter tweeters, maintaining the proposal for high-volume playback in a more compact body.
In this model, Samsung adopted an integrated handle with lighting.
The manufacturer claims that this feature was designed to facilitate transportation and maintain the visual identity of the line in low-light environments.
Removable Battery Expands Continuous Use
One of the highlighted differentiators by Samsung is the removable battery present in both models.
The proposal is to allow the replacement of the power module without interrupting playback, which can be relevant for longer events or in locations without immediate access to power outlets.
The company states that it intends to sell additional batteries as accessories in the future.
No details were provided regarding suggested prices, release dates for these extra modules, or any compatibility differences between the models.
360° LEDs and Lighting Synchronized with Music
The new Sound Towers come equipped with the Party Lights+ system, which uses LEDs distributed in five areas of the speaker to create lighting effects in 360 degrees.
According to Samsung, the goal is to synchronize light and sound to match the rhythm of the music during use.
The manufacturer claims that the technology analyzes beats and frequencies in real time to trigger dozens of LEDs in a coordinated manner.
Among the available lighting patterns are Wave, Trail, Spark, Breeze, Flow, and Flare.
App Centralizes Sound and Light Control
To control the functions of the speakers, Samsung revamped the Samsung Sound Tower app.
The redesign was done in partnership with the brand’s national office.
Through a smartphone, it is possible to control lighting, equalization, and sound modes, according to the company.
Samsung did not detail which features are available on each operating system or if there are functional differences between versions of the app.
DJ Modes, Karaoke, and Guitar Input
Another feature of the line is the presence of DJ Booth and Karaoke modes.
According to Samsung, these features allow using the speaker as an audio center for performances and musical interactions in home environments.
The Sound Towers also feature a guitar input and support for up to two microphones simultaneously.
The proposal, according to the manufacturer, is to cater to users seeking integrated solutions for live music.
IPX4 Protection for Outdoor Use
The IPX4 certification ensures resistance to water splashes from any direction.
Samsung states that this protection allows the use of the speakers in outdoor areas, near pools, or in light rain situations.
The standard does not indicate resistance to submersion or prolonged contact with water.
Connection Between Up to 10 Speakers and Integration with TVs

In terms of connectivity, Samsung highlights the Auracast Group Play technology, which allows connecting up to 10 Sound Towers simultaneously.
According to the company, this feature enables expanding sound coverage in larger spaces with synchronized playback.
There is also the option to use two Sound Towers connected to a TV to create a stereo system of the TWS type.
In this scenario, the speakers can be positioned next to the screen and configured in stereo mode.
Samsung did not detail compatibility requirements with specific television models.
Availability of Sound Towers in Brazil
According to Samsung, the Sound Tower ST40F and ST50F are already available for purchase in Brazil.
The products can be found on the official brand website and in the company app.
The announcement does not provide suggested prices nor clarify whether the models will be sold by other retailers besides the company’s own channels.
With the expansion of the portable speaker portfolio geared towards parties, what characteristics do you think will weigh more for the Brazilian consumer: power and autonomy or integration of lights, connectivity, and additional musical features?
