Vacancies and requirements: diverse opportunities
The contest Embrapa offers positions in the following areas: Researcher, Analyst, Assistant and Technician. The distribution of vacancies is as follows:
- 404 vacancies for Analyst
- 319 vacancies for Research
- 242 vacancies for Coach
- 62 vacancies for Assistants
Opportunities are divided into 719 vacancies for broad competition, 103 vacancies for people with disabilities (PwDs) and 205 vacancies for black and brown people, in addition to the reserve registry.
Attractive salaries and benefits
Salaries vary depending on the position:
- Assistants: Incomplete elementary level (minimum 5th year) with salary of R$2.186,19.
- Coach: Intermediate or technical level, with remuneration of R$5.556,81.
- Analyst: Higher level in specific areas, with initial gains of R$10.921,33.
- Research: It is necessary to have a master's degree in specific areas on your resume and the starting salary is R$12.814,61.

Candidates who are bone marrow donors and are registered in the Single can request an exemption from the fee.
Selection process steps
The selection process will consist of:
- Objective proof (eliminatory and qualifying) for all positions.
- speech test (only for Researcher and some Analyst specialties).
- Defense of memorial and presentation of research project (exclusive for Researcher).
- Practical test (for some Technician specialties).
- Bond valuation (Researcher only).
The objective and discursive tests are scheduled for March 23th, 2025, and the application locations will be published in Annex III of the notice.

The competition has national scope with vacancies available in all Embrapa careers. As it is a public company under private law, new admissions will be governed by CLT
Career development
According to Embrapa's career plan, career development under the CLT will be based on excellent performance and self-development, compatible with the acquisition of the required skills.
Embrapa constantly invests in the professional growth of its employees and encourages courses and training.
Recognition and reward
Embrapa will annually allocate financial resources equivalent to 1,0% of its payroll for promotions and salary progressions, based on merit and seniority, and 1,5% of the same calculation base to meet the award process for results achieved.
Embrapa Notice: stages
The positions will have specific selection stages. As provided for in the Embrapa notice, the competition will have the following stages:
- objective test, of an eliminatory and classificatory nature, for all positions.
- speech test, of an eliminatory and classificatory nature, only for the position of Researcher and some specialties of the position of Analyst.
- Defense of memorial and presentation of research project, of a classificatory nature, only for the position of Researcher.
- Practical test, of an eliminatory and classificatory nature, only for some specialties of the Technician position.
- Bond valuation, of a classificatory nature, only for the position of Researcher.
Objective proof
Specifically for the position, the objective tests of the Embrapa competition are eliminatory and classificatory in nature. To fill it, knowledge of general and specialized subjects is verified through the questionnaire test to assess the candidates' readiness.
Therefore, 110,00 and 100,00 are the maximum score received for Researcher in the classification field I, II and III and Analyst, Assistant and Technician, respectively. They do not remove the impartiality of the recruitment process.
- Objective test date: 23/03/2025.
Structure of the tests
According to the Embrapa notice, each objective test is composed of items grouped into specific commands that must be strictly followed. The items are evaluated based on the criteria CERTAIN ou WRONG, according to the corresponding commands.
On the answer sheet, the candidate will find two marking fields for each item:
- C: Must be filled in if the item is considered CERTAIN.
- E: Must be filled in if the item is considered WRONG.
speech test
The discursive test will be worth 20,00 points and will consist of writing a dissertative text, of up to 30 lines, on topics related to current affairs in the context of Embrapa's activities.
- Date of the written test: 23/03/2025.
Defense of memorial and presentation of research project
For each option (position/area/subarea), candidates for the position of Researcher who have passed the discursive test will be called to defend their memorial and present their research project.
The evaluations will add up, in total, 10,00 points, evaluating the candidate's performance before the examining committee regarding their professional contributions and projects carried out.
Memorial defense
In memory, it is crucial to place the candidate's pertinent contributions in his or her field or subfield. This involves tracking down the correct fundamental orientation or various theoretical assumptions, what should be highlighted as true, what results have a right to exist, and to what extent the formulation is multipurpose to promote advances in the field's knowledge and practices.
The candidate will have 20 minutes in total; at least 10 should be devoted to presenting his or her own thoughts and experiences. The remaining 10 minutes are devoted to objections from the committee, which should be heard as a sober and useful attempt to address what was said in the presentation.
Presentation of the research project
The project is presented in a public session immediately after the defense of the memorial. Candidates of the same option (position/area/subarea) will not be able to attend the session.
Practical test
The practical test for the Embrapa competition will have a weight of 10,00 and will consist of a simulation of a problem situation consistent with the activities of the position, area or subarea in which the candidate is competing.
As stated in the Embrapa notice, this simulation will take into account the technical expertise of those called, the projected interaction and use of equipment, the organization and description of the results of the problem situation.
- Duration: Maximum of 15 minutes by candidate.
- It is necessary to obtain a minimum grade of 5,00 points for approval.
Bond valuation
The evaluation of qualifications for the position of Researcher will be restricted to candidates who pass the written test. The maximum score for the evaluation of qualifications is 10 points, even if the total number of titles presented exceeds this amount. Check the distribution of points:
- Academic education: until 4,00 points totals.
- Academic, scientific and technological productivity: until 2,00 points totals.
- Professional experience: until 4,00 points totals.
