Voltz EV1 Sport Electric Scooter Surprises with 150 km Range, Simple Charging, and Cost of R$ 0.05 per km Traveled. National and Technological, It Promises to Retire Fuel in Big Cities.

As the price of gasoline rises and the traffic in big cities seems increasingly chaotic, a new type of vehicle begins to silently dominate the Brazilian streets. This is the Voltz EV1 Sport, a national electric scooter that combines impressive range, simple charging, and extremely low operational cost — traveling 100 km costs less than an espresso. With a range of up to 150 km per charge, performance comparable to a 150 cc motorcycle, and the comfort typical of a premium scooter, the model promises to be a game changer for urban mobility in the country.

The Rise of Electric Mobility in Brazil

Voltz Motors, a Pernambuco-based startup founded in 2017, was born with the aim of creating a line of electric vehicles aimed at the urban public, offering modern design, connected technology, and unbeatable cost per kilometer.

In 2020, the company launched its first model, the EV1, but it was the arrival of the Sport version that consolidated the brand’s name in the market.

More powerful, efficient, and equipped, the EV1 Sport quickly won over delivery workers, delivery companies, and urban drivers looking for independence from fuel and almost no maintenance.

According to data from Voltz itself, the scooter is already present in over 20 Brazilian states, with a network of more than 50 service points, a remarkable feat for an independent national manufacturer in a market traditionally dominated by Japanese giants.

Modern Design and Premium Scooter Comfort

The Voltz EV1 Sport stands out for its futuristic and minimalist design, with clean lines and good quality finish. Its size is similar to medium scooters like the Honda PCX, and the double seat ensures comfort for both the rider and the passenger.

The dashboard is 100% digital and connected via an app, allowing users to monitor consumption, battery status, location, and even lock the vehicle remotely. There are also full LED lighting, button start, disk brakes on both wheels, and a dual rear suspension that absorbs urban surface irregularities well.

Even being an electric motorcycle, the assembly conveys robustness and a sense of stability, especially at urban speeds. The absence of vibrations and the silence of the electric motor make driving a smooth experience, an advantage that stands out compared to combustion scooters.

Electric Performance and Surprising Range

The star of the EV1 Sport is the 3,000 W electric motor (equivalent to about 4 hp) with immediate torque of 11 kgfm, more than any 150 cc scooter available on the market.

This allows for quick accelerations in traffic and safe recoveries, even with a passenger or on hills.
The top speed reaches 85 km/h, sufficient for urban and peri-urban travel.

The set of two removable lithium batteries (72V and 23Ah each) offers total autonomy of up to 150 km, depending on the driving mode and weight carried.

A full charge takes between 4 and 5 hours on a standard household socket of 110 or 220 volts — no special installation needed.

In practical terms, the cost per kilometer traveled is estimated at R$ 0.05, while an average combustion scooter spends about R$ 0.35 to R$ 0.40 per km.

This difference makes the EV1 Sport an option nearly seven times cheaper to operate.

Technology and Connectivity in Daily Life

The EV1 Sport is one of the most technologically advanced scooters ever manufactured in Brazil. In addition to the Voltz Connect app, which allows tracking the vehicle and managing information in real time, it offers driving mode with power control, assisted reverse, integrated alarm, “digital key” function, and over-the-air software updates (OTA) — something previously unheard of in the national urban motorcycle segment.

Another differentiator is the energy recovery system (regenerative), which partially recharges the battery during deceleration, increasing range by up to 10%.

These features make the EV1 Sport a scooter with technology comparable to automotive electric vehicles, but at a much lower cost and with almost no maintenance.

Minimal Maintenance and Daily Savings

One of the main advantages of the electric scooter is its low maintenance cost. Since it has no oil, filter, clutch, chain, or exhaust, the EV1 Sport only requires simple periodic maintenance — basically checking brakes, tires, and software.

The average annual cost is around R$ 300, compared to about R$ 1,500 to R$ 2,000 for a combustion scooter.

Additionally, Voltz’s electric system has a warranty of up to 3 years, and the batteries have a lifespan of over 2,000 charges, which equates to about 5 years of intense use.

When combined with the cost per kilometer, the result is one of the best total cost of ownership (TCO) figures in the national market.

Environmental Performance and Tax Exemption

The EV1 Sport also draws attention for its virtually zero environmental impact.
It emits no pollutants, produces no noise, and helps reduce the traffic of combustion vehicles in cities.

Some states and municipalities already offer IPVA exemption and tax incentives for electric vehicles, reinforcing the model’s economic appeal.

According to data from the ANFAVEA mobility portal, the market for electric two-wheelers grew over 200% between 2022 and 2024, with Voltz leading the national category. This growth shows an irreversible trend: the future of urban motorcycles in Brazil is, inevitably, electric.

The Scooter That Is Redefining Urban Mobility

The Voltz EV1 Sport is not just a scooter; it is a symbol of technological transition. With modern design, total connectivity, a range of 150 km, and negligible cost per kilometer traveled, it redefines what it means to move smartly in Brazilian cities.

Quiet, economical, and environmentally friendly, the EV1 Sport shows that the era of electric mobility has arrived to stay and that Brazil, for the first time, is a protagonist in this revolution on two wheels.
