How Does the Selection Process Work?
The notice PROTIC/RECTORATE/UFR N° 8 states that the selection will take place in two stages: document analysis and interview.
The initiative aims to strengthen the quality of distance education and ensure that tutors have the necessary skills to assist students effectively.
The university emphasizes that the tutor’s role can be in physical poles as well as in the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), depending on the course demand and the candidate’s location.
What Are the Available Courses?
The selected tutors will work in the following specialization courses:
- Specialization in Critical Practices in English Language Teaching
- Specialization in Science Education – “Science is 10!”
Each modality has strategic poles distributed across various cities in the state of Mato Grosso. Check the available locations for each course:
- English Language: Jauru, Pedra Preta, Primavera do Leste, and Sapezal.
- Sciences: Aripuanã, Lucas do Rio Verde, Nova Xavantina, Primavera do Leste, and Sapezal.
Requirements to Participate
Interested candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Graduation diploma recognized by MEC.
- Skill with digital tools and familiarity with AVA Moodle.
- Availability of 20 hours per week, including possible activities on weekends.
- Residence in the municipality of the pole where they intend to work.
- Not being a student in the course for which they wish to be a tutor.
- Voter registration status and, in the case of foreigners, Permanent Foreign National Registration (RNE).
Additionally, candidates need to present documents such as proof of residence, graduation diploma, and updated Lattes Curriculum.
How Does the Remuneration Work?
The selected tutors will receive a monthly scholarship of R$ 1,100, paid directly into a bank account, according to the regulations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES).
It is important to highlight that this relationship does not constitute employment, but rather an academic incentive scholarship.
The granting of the scholarship is subject to the budget availability of CAPES and the number of students enrolled in the courses. In other words, passing the selection process does not automatically guarantee the granting of the scholarship, as it depends on administrative and financial factors.
Deadline and Stages of the Selection Process
Applications will be open from March 29 to April 13, 2025 and must be made exclusively through the official UFR website: https://ufr.edu.br/cev/processo-seletivo-tutor-2025/.
The selection process will occur in two phases:
Document analysis: in this stage, the evaluation team will check if candidates submitted all required documents.
Incomplete applications will be automatically disqualified.
Virtual Interview: candidates classified in the first stage will be invited for an online interview.
The goal is to assess pedagogical skills, communication ability, and knowledge of educational technologies.
Why Become an EAD Tutor?
Being a tutor in a specialization course at UFR can be an excellent opportunity for those who want to deepen their knowledge in the field of education, gain experience in distance teaching, and contribute to the training of new professionals.
Moreover, the EAD modality has been growing in Brazil, becoming an increasingly sought-after alternative by students and professionals seeking continuous qualification.
Another positive aspect is the possibility of working flexibly, as part of the activities can be performed remotely.
With only 20 hours a week, the tutor can balance this experience with other academic and professional activities.
