An explosion hit a container ship this Friday (9), at the port of Zhoushan, in Ningbo, eastern China. The incident, which occurred in the early afternoon (local time), was captured from multiple angles in videos shared on social media, where a strong plume of smoke can be seen followed by a powerful explosion. The news is already circulating widely and raising concerns, although, fortunately, no deaths or injuries have been reported.
Look, what happened today at the port of Zhoushan is the kind of thing nobody wants to see. Just imagine, a container ship flying the Liberian flag, which was peacefully docked at the Beilun 2 container terminal, suddenly becomes the epicenter of an explosion. According to available information, everything indicates that the culprit may be a container transporting hazardous materials. That’s right, the kind of cargo that makes everyone think twice before getting close.
China Was Quick to Reassure the Public
The state media of China was quick to reassure the public, stating that there were no deaths or injuries in the incident. But let’s agree, it was quite a scare.
