Seismic tremor was felt in Kabul and northern Pakistan; authorities reported that, so far, there is no official record of victims or damages, while checks continue.
A magnitude 6 earthquake hit the mountainous region of Hindu Kush, in Afghanistan, this Saturday, June 27, 2026. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the tremor was recorded at a depth of 100 kilometers and could be felt from Kabul to areas in neighboring Pakistan. Additionally, authorities continue to monitor the situation.
Tremor was felt in different regions
While the seismic tremor was recorded in Afghanistan, residents also reported tremors in the Swat district, located in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to resident Daniyal Ahmad, in a statement to Reuters, many people quickly left their homes.
