Amazon Web Services (AWS) launched AWS Treina Brasil, a national initiative for free training in artificial intelligence and cloud computing that aims to train 1 million students, professionals, and entrepreneurs by the end of 2028.
The program brings together clients and partners to accelerate digital transformation in businesses, the public sector, and the third sector across the country.
SENAI Opens 200,000 Free Places by 2026
As a central pillar of the project, SENAI will offer 200,000 free places in courses on generative AI and cloud fundamentals until December 2026.

According to the regional director of SENAI in Santa Catarina, Fabrízio Pereira, increasing access to advanced tools is essential for competitiveness: “By democratizing access to cutting-edge technologies, we enhance essential technical skills for professionals and companies across different segments,” he stated.
Partner Ecosystem
The execution of AWS Treina Brasil involves a set of educational and market organizations.
The National Service of Industrial Learning (SENAI) of Santa Catarina, Refuturiza, Cartão de Todos, AllpFit, IBMEC, Alterdata, ETICE CE, the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific, and Technological Education, along with Santander and Santander X are part of the network.
The composition aims to bring together educational institutions, companies, and sectorial entities to increase access to qualification. Similar initiatives are already underway in other Latin American countries.
Course Structure
The program has been structured to cater to everyone from technology beginners to professionals in retraining or career transition.
The content includes basic concepts and advanced modules, with tracks on generative AI, machine learning, cloud computing fundamentals, innovation, and digital transformation.
Activities combine asynchronous classes with live events.
Upon completing the planned sessions, participants receive a certificate of participation.
The tracks align with AWS certifications, offering both conceptual and practical foundations for those looking to sit for official exams.
Access to the material will be through the official AWS Treina Brasil portal, which also gathers success stories and supporting content.
Technology Training Goal
AWS describes the program as its largest mass training effort in Brazil, aimed at training professionals capable of working in different sectors of the economy.
The expectation is to benefit SMEs, public organizations, and initiatives from the third sector, as well as students seeking their first job in technology.
AWS Statements
For the general director of AWS in Brazil, Cleber Morais, collaboration among companies, academia, and sectorial entities is crucial to reducing the skills gap:
“That is why we must join forces to develop the talents and capabilities necessary for economic development and innovation, creating free training in AI and cloud accessible from anywhere in the country. These opportunities can mean career growth, a transition, or a chance to enter the job market,” he said.
Changes in the Job Market
The need for upskilling and reskilling grows in light of technological, economic, and demographic changes.
The Future of Jobs 2025 Report, from the World Economic Forum, highlights AI and big data among the priority areas for workforce updating, driven by automation, green transition, and new production models.
In parallel, estimates from IDC indicate that about 65% of companies in Latin America face challenges in recruiting, retaining, and developing talents with digital skills.
Global AWS Investment
On the international front, AWS announced in December 2020 a commitment to invest hundreds of millions of dollars to provide free cloud computing training to 29 million people by 2025.
According to the company, this effort encompasses all levels of knowledge and reaches over 200 countries and territories.
By early 2024, AWS reported having trained over 31 million people.
Impact on Companies and Professionals
For organizations, access to free training can contribute to the adoption of cloud services and the use of generative AI in products and processes.
For professionals, the certificate of participation and the connection with content aligned to official certifications can facilitate entry or progression in the job market.
The presence of academic and corporate partners expands the reach of the program.
Scale and Reach
The goal of 1 million people by 2028 depends on broad national coverage and continuous engagement.
The integration among educational institutions, companies, and sectorial entities seeks to enable this scale through a hybrid offering, standardized materials, and in-person or remote events in different regions.
The opening of 200,000 free places by SENAI by 2026 represents one of the initial steps in this process.
Opportunity for Beginners and Entrepreneurs
For those looking to enter technology, the program offers an entry point with tracks that cover everything from fundamentals to practical applications.
Professionals from related fields can update their knowledge with a focus on AWS services, while entrepreneurs and small businesses have access to content that assists in creating scalable solutions.
How to Enroll
Those interested in participating in AWS Treina Brasil should register directly on the official program portal, where they can choose their learning tracks and access the content. The 200,000 free places from SENAI will be open until December 2026. Do you plan to secure your registration on the AWS portal or in the classes offered by SENAI?
