While the compact models from Fiat and Renault are sold for around R$ 70 thousand, the Toyota Vitz is being sold in South Africa starting at US$ 9,900.
When converted to reais, the new car in the automotive market starts at R$ 49,200, thus falling well below the range of popular cars. Although it has not yet arrived in the national market, certainly all brands are already keeping an eye on it, especially regarding the Renault Kwid, as it would be a direct competitor of one of the best-selling models in the country.
Abroad, the model is in its fourth generation, being one of the favorites in the market. Unfortunately, the Toyota Vitz has not yet arrived here; however, its arrival seems to be getting closer. According to the automaker itself, despite being an entry-level budget car, it still offers packages of technology and complete accessories.
Toyota Announces Billion-Dollar Investment in the Country
The Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services (MDIC), Geraldo Alckmin, participated last Tuesday (5) in the announcement of R$ 11 billion in investments from Toyota in Brazil until 2030, with R$ 5 billion by 2026.
According to the CEO of Toyota for Latin America and the Caribbean, Rafael Chang, this is the largest investment plan of the brand in Brazil and emphasized that the NIB brings new guidelines for effective green reindustrialization in Brazil. With the investment, Toyota announced the execution of works to expand the hybrid flex vehicle production hub in Sorocaba, which will begin in April this year.
