Toyota is preparing for a significant debut: the launch of the 13th generation of the Corolla in 2025, promising innovations that could place it ahead of competitors like the Civic and the Sentra. The Corolla, recognized as the best-selling car in the world, is about to undergo a substantial update. Although it retains the TNGA platform, the model will incorporate new features that are in tune with the latest trends in the automotive market, reaffirming its leadership position in the industry.

Inspired by Toyota’s electric BZ models, the new Toyota Corolla 2025 will feature a renewed look, with influences from the mid-size electric sedan BZ3. C-shaped full LED headlights, bumpers with new air intakes, and a coupe-style roofline are also part of the new design of the electric Toyota.
The interconnected rear lights with full LED lighting complete the vehicle’s modern aesthetics. With slightly larger dimensions, around 4.65 cm in length and an extended wheelbase compared to the current model, the Toyota Corolla 2025 will have a diverse line-up, including the traditional sedan, the Corolla Cross SUV, a sporty GR hatchback, and the exclusive version for the European market, the Corolla Touring Sports (wagon).

Inside, the electric Toyota will undergo significant changes, with improvements in finish and increased interior space. The equipment list will also be expanded, including electronic parking brake, two-zone digital climate control, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats with electric adjustments, as well as a 10-inch multimedia system with advanced connectivity.
The Japanese brand plans to introduce fully electric options in the Toyota Corolla 2025, along with a new turbo engine to replace the current 2.0 naturally aspirated engine. Hybrid options, including the highly efficient 2.0 hybrid system and plug-in hybrids for greater electric range, will also be available.
New Toyota Corolla Electric Promises To Undercut Civic Sales
In terms of safety, the new Toyota Corolla 2024 will be even more complete, featuring adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, electronic parking brake, lane-keeping and lane-assist features, blind spot alerts, rear cross-traffic, and collision warnings.
With all these innovations and improvements, the Toyota Corolla 2025 promises to be a strong competitor in the market, directly challenging models like the Civic and Sentra. For this year, in addition to this electric Toyota, another much-anticipated car from the brand is the Yaris Cross SUV, which will be produced at the Sorocaba factory in December 2024. The brand confirmed that the new model will have a flex hybrid option, which goes beyond the traditional one. The Yaris Cross features a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine with 106 horsepower and 14 kgfm for the entry-level versions, and a 1.5 turbo engine, which combines an 80-horsepower combustion engine with a 90 hp electric motor.
Toyota Corolla Has More Than 30 Years In Brazil
The Toyota Corolla officially arrived in the Brazilian market in 1992 at the São Paulo International Motor Show, alongside other names like Hilux, SW4, and the Camry sedan. Since then, more than 2 million units of these four vehicles have been sold in the national market.
The mid-size sedan was introduced in its 7th generation. Initially, it was imported from Japan and arrived in the country with a 1.8 16V engine, four cylinders, with 115 horsepower and a five-speed manual transmission in the LE version, as well as a system with electronic fuel injection, which was not very common in national cars at the time.
