In dimensions, the Toyota Hilux diesel hybrid, rival of the Ranger, is built on a chassis measuring 5.32 m in length, 3.8 m in wheelbase, 1.85 m in width, 1.81 m in height, weighing up to 2,090 kg and accommodating 1000 L of capacity in the bed and 1 Ton in the same.
The design of the new Toyota Hilux diesel hybrid, despite being a few good years old, is still very attractive. There are full LED headlights, including fog lights and a chrome hexagonal grille. On the sides, the Ranger rival features chrome door handles and mirrors, as well as 18-inch diamond-polished wheels. At the rear, the door handle also comes with chrome accents, just like the iron bumper.
New Rival Of The Ranger Delivers 204 Horsepower In Its Hybrid Version
In terms of powertrain, the new Toyota Hilux diesel hybrid surprises positively and, unlike most hybrid pickup trucks, which are gasoline, this Toyota model retains the turbodiesel block as its base.
It features the well-known 2.8 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine producing 204 horsepower and 51 kgfm of torque, which now comes paired with an additional 48 V starter generator that produces 16 horsepower and 6.6 kgfm of torque by itself. It is coupled to the crankshaft of the engine and is connected to the system via an extremely durable belt, which also features a double lever tensioner.
The Toyota Hilux diesel hybrid, rival of the Ranger, also comes with a compact battery located under the rear seat that stores electricity produced by the starter generator when the pickup is braking.
Toyota Hilux Diesel Hybrid Pickup Features Several Cutting-Edge Technologies
On the inside, the Toyota Hilux diesel hybrid remains unchanged, offering hard plastic for nearly all finishes. The interior space comfortably accommodates five adults. Noteworthy features include a multifunction steering wheel with a configurable TFT screen, digital climate control, keyless entry, and ambient LED lighting.
On the doors, for the top versions, as well as the JBL sound system, the vehicle also includes power adjustments for the driver’s seat, ventilation for both front seats. It also has a traction and driving mode selector and much more.
The Ranger rival also features a 9-inch multimedia system with wireless connectivity for Apple Carplay and Android Auto, native GPS, and a rearview camera.
