Changing the Transmission Mount Transforms the Performance of the Citroën C3, Improves Urban Fuel Consumption, Eliminates Vibrations, and Highlights the French Compact Among the Most Economical in the Segment. See How Simple Maintenance Can Impact Your Routine.
After a simple replacement of the upper transmission mount, the Citroën C3 First Edition 1.0 showed a remarkable improvement in performance, comfort, and fuel consumption, achieving an average of 16.7 km/l in the city.
This information was highlighted in a report originally published by the site Quatro Rodas, which monitored the routine of the model and detailed the changes observed after the maintenance.
The intervention, performed under warranty after the component showed a defect, resulted in the elimination of uncomfortable engine vibrations, providing a more pleasant and quieter driving experience for those using the vehicle in daily urban environments.

Improved Urban Fuel Consumption and Performance
In June, shortly after the 70,000 km service, the team monitoring the Citroën C3 in the Long Duration fleet recorded a period of tranquility and good performance.
According to the findings of the site Quatro Rodas, 58.7% of the trips made in the last month were in urban circuits, the second highest rate since May 2023, when the model joined the long-term testing program.
The direct reflection was the fuel consumption record, with an average of 16.7 km/l, higher than the historical performance of the French compact.

The improvement was not limited to fuel consumption alone.
As reported in an interview given to the site Quatro Rodas by art editor Fabio Paiva, the vehicle began to display behavior similar to a brand new car after the transmission mount was replaced.
He emphasized that the car returned to having agile responses, especially at cruising speeds, maintaining smoothness even in fifth gear on highways.
Performance Tests and User Reports
The tests conducted at 64,024 km showed significant improvement in the figures for the Citroën C3.
In acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h in fifth gear, the time dropped from 43.6 seconds, measured still in the early phase of the fleet, to 38.3 seconds after the mount replacement.
The newspaper also noted that this difference highlights the positive impact of the repair not only on comfort but also on the performance of the engine with 999 cm³ and 75/71 horsepower (ethanol/gasoline), always working in conjunction with the five-speed manual transmission.
However, despite the new standard of smoothness reported by daily users of the vehicle, occasional observers still note slight vibrations.
Photographer Renato Pizzutto, for example, highlighted in a statement to the site that, even with the advancements, he felt minor vibrations during a trip to the northern coast of São Paulo state.
This suggests that while the intervention resolved most problems, the ideal adjustment may still vary according to each driver’s perception.
Maintenance Costs and Routine of the French Compact
The Citroën C3 First Edition 1.0, equipped with a three-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, and flex system, reached a mileage of 73,091 km accumulating typical expenses of a Long Duration fleet.
According to a report published by Quatro Rodas, the insurance for the model, based on the evaluation team’s usage profile, was quoted at R$ 1,824 in the recent period.
The costs for maintenance, up to the 100,000 km mark, reached R$ 7,518, including the replacement of brake discs, which required an investment of R$ 2,124 in the most recent service.
During the last month, the amount spent solely on fuel was R$ 1,272, consistent with intense urban use.
Since April 2023, the overall average fuel consumption of the model has been 13.6 km/l, considering 35.4% of the trips made in urban environments.
The variation between the periods highlights how a predominantly urban routine, associated with preventive and corrective maintenance, can result in gains in efficiency and savings.

Autonomy and Comfort Stand Out Among Compacts
The autonomy of the Citroën C3 First Edition 1.0, evidenced by the mark of 16.7 km/l, stands out in the compact segment, especially in times of high fuel prices.
By eliminating the vibrations from the compromised mount, the model also provides greater comfort to drivers and passengers, a relevant factor for those who frequently use the vehicle in cities.
According to information from the dealer Toriba mentioned in the report from the site, the replacement of the mount outside specifications was crucial to restore the expected drivability of a new car.
The component was replaced within the warranty period at no additional cost to the owner, reinforcing the importance of periodic monitoring and observation of early wear symptoms.
Efficiency and Preventive Maintenance in Daily Use
The recently recorded consumption places the Citroën C3 in a prominent position among flex models available in Brazil, especially among those equipped with three-cylinder naturally aspirated engines.
The combination of efficiency, low maintenance cost, and renewed comfort after the mount replacement contributes to the model’s appeal, especially in urban centers where frequent use demands mechanical robustness and fuel economy.
Moreover, the history of scheduled services and strict monitoring of performance over the kilometers traveled reinforce the importance of preventive practices to prolong the lifespan of essential vehicle components.

The simple replacement of the mount in the Citroën C3 reinforces how adequate maintenance can directly impact performance, comfort, and economy of an urban vehicle. What maintenance item do you think makes the most difference in your car’s routine?
