GranIHC’s Flotel Resumes Activity After Repairs at Porto do Açu and Will Provide Support Services to P50 Before Heading to the Peregrino Field to Work for Equinor
The UMS Olympia from GranIHC departed last Tuesday (6/25) from Porto do Açu, in northern Fluminense, to conduct some tests at sea before continuing its journey to the Albacora Leste field in the Campos Basin.
The contract to be fulfilled by the vessel is with Petrobras, specifically it will support activities at the FPSO P50, installed in the field.
The forecast for GranIHC’s flotel to begin operations is on Monday (7/1), working until the end of November, and shortly after it will have another mission to fulfill, this time with Equinor, supporting implementation activities for phase 2 of the company in the Peregrino field.
The contract with Equinor is expected to start at the end of December and will last for 6 months, supporting activities to extend the productive life of the asset, including the installation of one more WHP (Wellhead Platform); currently, there is one FPSO operating along with the 2 WHPs.

UMS Olympia
GranIHC’s flotel has a history of providing good services to oil companies. Its last campaign, completed last December, was for Petrobras supporting, for one year, the Revamp activities of the fixed gas platform in the Mexilhão field.
Before heading to these two contracts (with Petrobras and Equinor), the Flotel Olympia was at Porto do Açu undergoing preventive maintenance and is now continuing its journey to the Campos Basin under its own propulsion.
The contract with Petrobras was signed in June after winning a bidding process in February to provide support services to the oil company.
Market estimates suggest that the Olympia will be chartered at a daily rate of US$ 47,000.
