ArcelorMittal Has 150 Technical Internship Positions Open at the Tubarão Unit with Expected Start in February and March 2023

ArcelorMittal, a company operating in the national and international steel sector, is conducting a selection process totaling 150 internship positions for students in technical education or training in various areas, to work at the company starting in 2023.

The selected interns in the ArcelorMittal internship program at the Tubarão unit will also be entitled to a chartered bus, meals provided by the company, excellent opportunities for professional growth, uniforms, and life insurance, as well as good financial compensation.

To apply, interested candidates must be enrolled in at least the first semester of their course in 2022 in the evening shift or have completed their schooling. It is essential to remember that proof of residence in Vitória, Espírito Santo, where the Tubarão unit is located, is required, and where the ArcelorMittal internship program will take place. The program is expected to start during the months of February and March 2023.

ArcelorMittal is recognized as one of the largest steelmakers in the world in the research and production of “green steel.” To reduce negative impacts on the environment and advance in decarbonization, various technologies are utilized at every stage of the steel manufacturing process.

The organization has made two significant commitments, and these initiatives are part of each. One aims to eliminate all carbon emissions in less than 30 years. Being the first company in the steel sector to declare a global commitment to become carbon neutral by 2050, ArcelorMittal is a leader in its sector with this initiative. 

Additionally, the company aims for a 25% reduction in carbon emissions produced by its operations worldwide by 2030. This will be achieved with a global investment of US$ 10 billion in a plant in Spain as a model unit for the exclusive production of “green steel,” which will not produce carbon emissions and will later be implemented on a larger scale.

In Brazil, there are various initiatives by the corporation in pursuit of a more ecologically correct steel chain. Increasing the use of scrap and natural gas in place of coal in blast furnaces, substituting fuels for others with a lower carbon footprint and renewable sources. Furthermore, studies for the application of “green hydrogen” and improvements in the carbonization process used to produce charcoal in its forestry unit are some examples of the company’s efforts to reduce its carbon emissions.
