Literature – Portuguese
This course aims to provide competence and qualification for teaching Portuguese Language and Literature at the elementary, middle, and higher education levels. It understands and applies different teaching theories and methods that enable the didactic transition of knowledge about language and literature.
Literature – Spanish
This 100% free course aims to train teachers to work in the fields of Spanish Language and Spanish Literature in Elementary and Middle Schools, with the ability to combine theoretical training with professional practice in a critical and reflective manner.
Geography
This course aims to train professionals able to plan, research, and collect data related to physical and human geography. It also aims to develop teaching, research, and technical application activities, based on principles, methods, and techniques, among others.
Mathematics
This 100% free course aims to train professionals capable of conducting scientific research in the field of Mathematics, who can also apply their knowledge in activities related to Economics, Physics, Chemistry, among others.
Applications for the Free Courses at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL)
Applications for the free distance learning undergraduate courses are now open and must be made exclusively online, until March 9, through the Copeve website. The application fee for taking a 100% free course is R$ 30.00, with the possibility of exemption for candidates registered in the Unique Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) with a family income per capita of up to half a minimum wage.
The announcement for the free distance learning undergraduate courses also makes provisions for reserving slots for affirmative action candidates, following the guidelines established for the selection process. The target audience includes teachers from the state and municipal public networks of Alagoas, who will have reserved slots, in addition to candidates in open competition who have completed the High School.
The Vice-Coordinator of Cied, Camila Silva, highlights the innovation in the application process and mentions that this year, the entire procedure for registering will be fully online, including the submission of documentation, providing participants with greater agility and accessibility.
Centers with Open Slots
The slots for free courses at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) are distributed among ten face-to-face support centers located in the cities of Maceió, Arapiraca, Coruripe, Maragogi, Teotônio, Porto Calvo, Boca da Mata, Matriz de Camaragibe, Olho d’Água das Flores, and Santana do Ipanema.
The selection process will be conducted in just one stage, based on the average grades of Portuguese Language and Mathematics obtained in high school. According to the coordinator of UAB/UFAL, Lilian Figueiredo Voss, the process was developed to democratize access to free distance learning undergraduate education.
According to Figueiredo, this offer reinforces the Federal University’s commitment to distance education and teacher training, enabling the qualification of professionals throughout the state.
