As a result, both soft neutralization responses and cutting-edge hard solutions can be activated quickly and accurately, shortening the neutralization chain and reducing the operator’s workload.

In this scenario, merely detecting or responding is no longer sufficient. The company argues that total coordination across the destruction chain is necessary, with agility to neutralize both conventional torpedoes and emerging unmanned systems.

This architecture typically includes early detection means, such as towed sonars and advanced sensors. It may also incorporate disposable countermeasures that create acoustic decoys to confuse enemy torpedoes and enhance the vessel’s chances of survival in the face of an imminent threat.
In addition to soft neutralization techniques aimed at diverting or deceiving the threat, the system provides options for direct neutralization. These solutions are designed to physically neutralize the torpedo when necessary, offering a broader response within the same defense framework.

Ultra Maritime also relates this new proposal to a broader shift in maritime security, focusing on holistic solutions. The company’s portfolio brings together sonar systems, sonobuoys, countermeasures, and modular mission systems, all designed to operate together.
