The Volkswagen announced a modest investment of R$ 9 billion in South America. With this, the company will renew its fleet, and Brazil will have new models from the brand. In this article, you will find some of the news that has already been confirmed by the company.
This new round of investments will join the R$ 7 billion announced last year, reinforcing the brand’s intention to renew its fleet by 2028. This R$ 9 billion will be sent to Brazil and Argentina. This will happen over the next five years.
So far, Volkswagen has promised 16 news during this period. Of these, six have already been confirmed, including the updates of the Amarok pickup and the T-Cross SUV and the launch of four new cars:

The News That Has Already Been Confirmed By Volkswagen
New Amarok
The first news confirmed by Volkswagen is the facelift of the Amarok. According to the company, US$ 250 million has been invested in the General Pacheco plant located in Argentina.
According to Volkswagen, units are already being tested in Brazil at the factory in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, where the company’s engineering is located, responsible for the final adjustments on the vehicle, which is expected to be launched in the middle of this year.

New T-Cross
Brazil’s best-selling SUV and without updates for five years, the T-Cross will undergo its first facelift. Although it has already been seen testing on the streets of Brazil, the expectation is that the new T-Cross will begin production only in April.
The new T-Cross is expected to maintain the design of the front grille. However, this model will feature a LED strip connecting the headlights. Another update will be the fog lights, which are currently rounded but will have a triangular design.

New Pickup
So far, the only model with any details released by Volkswagen has been the pickup that will be produced in São José dos Pinhais.
According to the company, the model will enter the market to compete with the Chevrolet Montana, Fiat Toro, and the next generation of the Renault mid-size pickup truck.
This Volkswagen model is expected to come with the same engines offered in the T-Cross, with the possibility of adopting a hybrid setup.

New Volkswagen SUV
Considered the main launch from Volkswagen in the coming years, the new SUV will be smaller than the Nivus and the T-Cross and will compete with the Fiat Pulse, Renault Kardian, and the future crossover model that will be a derivative of the Chevrolet Onix.
According to the information, the model in question will have a 1.0 turbo engine and a price range between R$ 100,000 and R$ 130,000. The launch is set for 2025.

Other SUVs
Finally, the last confirmed news concerns two SUVs that are expected to be released only in 2027. The models are still a mystery, but it is known that one of these SUVs may replace the Taos, currently made in Argentina.
The other model is based on the Chinese Tayron. This vehicle will be larger, with 7 seats, and will occupy the place of the Tiguan.
Both models will be manufactured at the Anchieta plant, the first VW factory outside Germany, which will receive the MQB Hybrid platform. This platform will give rise to plug-in hybrid cars with the also new 1.5 turbo EVO2 engine. The power will range between 150 hp and 272 hp.
