The UK Oilfield Services Provider, Wood, and Azerbaijan’s Nobel Oil Entered Into a Joint Venture (JV) Agreement to Provide Engineering Support and Operations Services for the Oil and Gas Market in Azerbaijan
Wood said on Wednesday that the JV will combine its engineering capabilities and technical services with Nobel Oil’s local knowledge and expertise in the Caspian Sea region. It will primarily support the delivery of engineering, procurement, and construction management contracts in brownfield, across a variety of offshore assets in Azerbaijan, Wood explained.
The JV was finalized in an official ceremony in Baku on October 31, with the participation of senior representatives from Wood, Nobel Oil, local energy sector operators, UK Trade & Investment, and British Ambassador Dr. Carole Crofts.
Dave Stewart, CEO of Wood Asset Solutions in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, commented: “Wood is committed to expanding our presence in Azerbaijan, seeking new opportunities to provide our services and building partnerships to become a leader in the local supply chain, supporting the needs of our clients. Joining forces with Nobel Oil will not only enhance our engineering capabilities in the country but also provide training and development opportunities for the Azerbaijani workforce.”
