Xiaomi’s premium line bets on advanced photography, extreme performance, and strategic partnerships to compete at the top of the global market, while the absence of Brazil from the initial list of countries reinforces uncertainties about the local availability of the new models.
Xiaomi confirmed the international expansion of the 17 series, consisting of the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi, all aimed at the premium segment with a declared focus on photography, performance, and integration of digital services.
On the official pages listing the served markets, Latin American countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Costa Rica appear, while Brazil is not included among the territories covered in this initial phase of regional distribution.

In this context, both the Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a chip produced using a 3-nanometer process, combined with OLED displays with brightness of up to 3,500 nits and batteries based on Xiaomi Surge Battery technology.
Xiaomi 17 bets on a balanced set of cameras and robust battery
In the entry model of the premium line, the company prioritizes a balanced set, bringing together high-resolution sensors and advanced video features in a more compact body, without compromising high autonomy and fast charging.

To achieve this, the Xiaomi 17 incorporates a main camera with a Light Fusion 950 sensor, size of 1/1.31 inches, aperture f/1.67, and optical stabilization, in addition to a Leica telephoto lens of 60 mm and an ultrawide of 17 mm, all with 50 megapixels.
Complementing the set, the front camera also offers 50 MP with autofocus, while the video system allows recording in 8K at 30 frames per second and capturing in 4K with Dolby Vision up to 60 fps, including support for log recording.
In addition to the cameras, the device combines a 6.3-inch display, a 6,330 mAh battery, and 100 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging, features that place the model among the most complete in autonomy within the category.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra brings 1-inch sensor and zoom up to 17.2x
At the top of the line, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra concentrates the main innovations and expands the photographic proposal, bringing the smartphone closer to professional equipment by incorporating a larger sensor, more complex lenses, and new image processing features.

Among the highlights is the main sensor of 1 inch with 50 MP and LOFIC HDR technology, accompanied by the Light Fusion 1050L sensor, a set designed to improve dynamic range and lighting control in different scenarios.
Next to it, the manufacturer adds a Leica telephoto lens of 200 MP, with a mechanical range of 75 mm to 100 mm, optical stabilization, and a range described as up to 17.2x in optical zoom, enhancing versatility in distance photography.
This system is complemented by a 50 MP ultrawide and a front camera also of 50 MP, while the presence of a Leica APO lens aims to reduce chromatic aberrations and increase color fidelity in more complex images.
Professional video and ACES standard expand cinematic proposal
In the video field, the Ultra model significantly expands capabilities by offering recording in 4K with Dolby Vision at up to 120 fps and support for log recording also in up to 4K at 120 fps, with integration to the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES) standard.
Completing the package, the device features a 6.9-inch display, a 6,000 mAh battery, and 90 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging, maintaining a focus on consistent performance and intensive use.
Leitzphone reinforces partnership with Leica and photographic experience
As the third variant of the series, the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi adopts the technical foundation of the Ultra, but features changes in design and user experience, targeting photography enthusiasts.
Visually, the device has a silver aluminum frame, a black composite material back, and a serrated rotating ring around the camera module, an element that simulates the operation of traditional Leica cameras.

In the software, the experience includes exclusive features such as the Leica Essential Mode, capable of recreating the aesthetics of classic models like Leica M9 and Leica M3, as well as filters and simulations inspired by the brand’s ecosystem.
Connectivity, performance, and additional benefits
Despite the differences between the models, the technical foundation remains aligned, using LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.1 storage, connectivity with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and an ultrasonic sensor under the display.
The IP68 certification against water and dust is also present, along with a service strategy that includes digital benefits in eligible markets, such as temporary subscriptions to popular platforms.
Among these benefits, the company offers three months of Google AI Pro, three months of YouTube Premium, and four months of Spotify Premium, varying by region and model purchased.
Brazil left out of the initial launch list
As the series advances in international markets, the Brazilian scenario remains undefined, as the country does not appear on the public lists related to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Leica Leitzphone.
Even with the presence of other recent devices in the brand’s national portfolio, there is no official indication of the launch of the series 17 in Brazil at this time, which keeps availability restricted to other markets in Latin America.
This movement reinforces Xiaomi’s focus on consolidating its global presence in the premium segment, especially through photography, featuring a 1-inch sensor, 200 MP telephoto lens, advanced zoom, 4K recording at 120 fps, 3,500 nits display, and a battery of up to 6,330 mAh.
