Xiaomi introduces the Mijia Wireless Floor Scrubber 5 with 18,000 Pa suction, 45-minute autonomy, and 100°C drying system.

Xiaomi has introduced in China a new appliance designed for vacuuming, scrubbing, and washing floors without reusing dirty water during cleaning. Called the Mijia Wireless Floor Scrubber 5, the equipment combines 18,000 Pa suction, a rotating brush, anti-tangle system, and enough autonomy to cover areas up to 334 square meters.

Launched on Wednesday, July 8, the model was positioned as a more affordable alternative within the manufacturer’s product line. Pre-sales began in the Chinese market for 1,645 yuan, equivalent to approximately R$ 1,249 in direct conversion. Despite the start of sales in China, there is still no forecast for the equipment to be offered internationally.

Xiaomi bets on a brush that washes the floor with pressure

The Mijia Wireless Floor Scrubber 5 is not limited to picking up dust and debris. The main brush rotates at 400 rotations per minute and exerts a downward pressure of 22.3 N on the surface.

According to Xiaomi, this combination produces the necessary friction to scrub the floor, differentiating the appliance’s operation from equipment that only vacuums or rolls a damp roller over the area.

The 18,000 Pa suction works in conjunction with the brush to remove dirt during movement. Thus, the appliance combines different cleaning stages in a single operation:

  • debris vacuuming;
  • application of clean water;
  • mechanical scrubbing of the floor;
  • collection of used water;
  • separation of liquids and solid materials.

The proposal is to reduce the need to use a vacuum cleaner, bucket, and mop separately.

Xiaomi’s system prevents spreading dirty water around the house

One of the main solutions implemented in the new device is the continuous supply of the brush with clean water. During operation, the system washes the rotating roller and prevents the already used liquid from returning to the floor.

This mechanism addresses a common problem in cleaners of this type: the reuse of contaminated water along the way. Instead of keeping the brush in contact with the same liquid, the equipment separates the clean supply from the collected material.

The reservoir for dirty water also separates liquid waste from solid waste. This organization facilitates disposal and prevents all the content removed from the floor from remaining mixed in the same compartment.

The clean water tank has a capacity of 1,000 mL. Its position at the bottom of the device was not only defined to accommodate the reservoir but also to alter the balance during use.

Xiaomi shifts center of gravity to reduce effort

By installing the tank in the lowest region of the Mijia Wireless Floor Scrubber 5, the manufacturer shifted the center of gravity closer to the floor. According to the numbers released by Xiaomi, the change reduces the tension exerted on the user’s hands by 25%.

The new weight distribution also increases the natural pressure applied by the brush by 10%. Thus, part of the force needed to scrub the surface comes from the device’s design itself, and not only from the movement performed by the person.

Ergonomics are complemented by the ability to tilt the equipment up to 180 degrees. The body can be almost parallel to the floor, allowing access to spaces under beds, sofas, and other furniture.

The cleaner can operate under structures with a minimum height of 10.4 centimeters. This feature expands the area covered without requiring constant movement of the furniture.

Anti-tangle technology processes up to 3,000 strands

Hair caught in the roller can reduce performance and force the user to interrupt cleaning to free the brush. To reduce this type of occurrence, Xiaomi installed an anti-tangle system composed of four layers.

The structure was developed to process up to 3,000 wet hair strands without blocking the brush’s rotation. The solution aims to maintain functionality even in environments where there is a higher concentration of hair on the floor.

The feature also reduces the need to manually remove tangled strands from the component after each use. Nevertheless, the manufacturer maintains an automatic cleaning process at the charging base.

Base washes the roller and uses hot air at 100°C

After cleaning, the Mijia Wireless Floor Scrubber 5 can be placed in the station to start a maintenance cycle. The base performs the roller washing and subsequently applies hot air at 100°C to dry the component.

The drying step prevents the brush from remaining damp while the device is stored. The process combines two tasks at the station that would normally need to be performed manually by the user.

Among the main features of the automatic cycle are:

  • washing of the rotating brush;
  • removal of accumulated debris on the roller;
  • drying with hot air;
  • preparation of the equipment for the next use.

The base is also responsible for charging the battery.

Autonomy allows cleaning up to 334 square meters

The battery offers up to 45 minutes of operation. According to the presented specifications, this autonomy allows for covering a total area of up to 334 square meters.

The effective reach may depend on the pace of use and the space covered, but the reported capacity makes the device an option suitable for both smaller homes and places with large areas.

The Mijia Wireless Floor Scrubber 5 is initially available for pre-sale only in China. The price of 1,645 yuan corresponds to approximately R$ 1,249 by the direct conversion presented, but this amount does not consider taxes, transportation, or potential commercialization costs in Brazil.

So far, the manufacturer has not announced when the product may reach other countries. Thus, consumers outside the Chinese market still depend on a future international expansion of the line.

With the new equipment, Xiaomi combines different technologies in a single routine: suction, continuous application of clean water, scrubbing, waste separation, and automatic roll sanitization. The combination aims to facilitate domestic cleaning, although the availability restricted to China initially limits the launch’s reach.
