With an Investment of R$ 1.2 Billion, Hitachi Energy Can Generate 3 Thousand Jobs, Both Direct and Indirect in Brazil. The Company Bets on Expansion and Innovation to Strengthen Its Operations in the Energy Sector.
The Brazil is about to experience a revolution in the energy sector, but this news is not just about a simple expansion. With the promise of 3 thousand new job openings and an investment that exceeds R$ 1.2 billion, Hitachi Energy is preparing for a move that could transform the national market. However, behind this scenario, there are crucial details that you cannot ignore.
According to Hitachi Energy, the investment of US$ 200 million (R$ 1.2 billion) will be directed towards the expansion of the factory in Guarulhos, São Paulo, and the construction of a new plant, yet to be defined in location, but possibly in a city in the Rio-São Paulo axis.
This move, which will take place over the next four years, aims to meet the growing demand for energy transmission equipment, both in Brazil and abroad.

Reforms, New Factory and the Future of Production at Hitachi Energy
The total number of jobs includes both direct and indirect employment. According to the company’s planning, improvements at the Guarulhos factory should be completed in approximately two years, increasing production capacity by 50% and generating 150 new jobs.
In parallel, the new plant, with an area of 40,000 square meters, is expected to add 450 new employees to the Brazilian operation, focusing on producing 80% of the existing factory’s portfolio.
The decision on the final location of this new facility will be made in the next two months, with the expectation that the company’s production capacity in Brazil will double by the end of the process.
In addition, Hitachi Energy plans to increase its workforce in Brazil from 1,500 to 2,100, further consolidating its position in the market.
Bruno Melles, global director of transformers at Hitachi, stated that the financing for this investment will be fully funded with internal resources, without the need for financial leverage.

A Milestone of 70 Years and Historical Expansion
Celebrating its 70 years of operation in Brazil, Hitachi Energy, a global leader in transformer technology and high voltage equipment, has decided that this is the ideal time to take a significant step toward a sustainable energy future.
Glauco Freitas, president of Hitachi Energy in Brazil, emphasizes that the company already has the largest installed base of this equipment in the country and that the new factory will be crucial to meet the growing demand, both domestic and international.
According to Noaman Amjad, head of Marketing and Sales for Japan, South America, and North Korea, Brazil plays a key role in the global energy landscape, thanks to its vast resources.
He pointed out that Hitachi has already carried out significant energy transmissions, such as that from the Itaipu plant to São Paulo, and that the company remains committed to updating these systems to ensure the sustainability and innovation needed for the future.
Strategic Partnerships and Training
The location of the new factory is still under negotiation, but Hitachi Energy is already in contact with local municipalities to ensure that there is qualified labor available.
The company has established strategic partnerships with institutions such as Senai and Senac to ensure the training of new employees, further strengthening its presence in Brazil.
This billion-dollar investment by Hitachi Energy represents a new chapter in the history of the Brazilian energy sector. The country, which is already a crucial player in the global arena, is expected to continue to shine in the coming years, with a promising future as it establishes itself as an energy powerhouse.
