The Prologue is already shaking up the market and becoming a threat to Elon Musk and BYD's cars!
Sales of the new Prologue, electric SUV from Honda, outperformed many competitors in the category in the US market in the most recent quarter. With this, Prologue has become a true threat to the vehicles of the Tesla. Honda SUV drivers in the U.S. have been incredibly loyal to their vehicles; about two-thirds of them trade in their cars for another Honda, similar to whatโs seen with iPhone owners. Thatโs helped the brand quickly chip away at Teslaโs dominance, according to Bloomberg News.
An impressive performance
In the third quarter, Honda sold about 13.000 Prologues, its mid-size electric SUV, between July and September. Although it still lags behind the Model Y Teslaโs best-selling electric SUV in the U.S., the Prologue has emerged as a popular electric vehicle, attracting drivers looking for a more affordable alternative.โFinally, an option that doesn't break the bank!โ is what many consumers are thinking.
the dealership Paragon Honda, located in Queens, New York, revealed that in September, for every three CR-Vs sold, a Prologue has found a new home. This is due to a series of incentives that have made the prices virtually equivalent. The starting price for the Prologue is US$ 47.400, barely US$400 less than the average market value of all cars in the US.

Reliability that conquers
Unlike many electric vehicles, the Prologue's performance may not be breathtaking, but it does have features that Honda fans love. Electric cars, because they don't need oil changes or air filters, generate significant savings in maintenance, around US$1.000 less per year compared to gasoline models.. Honda is already known for its reliability, and adding an even more reliable vehicle to the lineup is a huge plus.
When asked why they chose Prologue, consumers cited the brand trust and the value as the main factors. Almost two-thirds of Prologue buyers had previously owned a Honda, and about 80% had never owned an electric car.
The economy that makes the difference
Mike Eppink, a customer who traded in his Honda Pilot for a Prologue, made the switch in part to save on gas. With his son playing baseball and traveling a lot to practices and games, he was spending about $ 250 per month in fuel.โI like where electric cars are going, and they really aren't that expensive when you look at the numbers.,โ Eppink says. Although his monthly payment increased slightly, the fuel savings made him feel like he was saving money.
The growth of the electric market
Despite talk of a slowdown in electric vehicles in the US, third-quarter sales show that many drivers were just waiting for more affordable options. 346.309 battery-powered cars and trucks were sold between July and September, an increase in 5% compared to the previous quarter and a jump of 11% compared to the same period last year. Electric vehicles now represent 9% of new car sales in the U.S., the highest level on record.
Tesla still maintains its credibility, delivering nearly 167.000 vehicles, including about 17.000 Cybertrucks. However, its market share has fallen to less than 50%, while brands like Chevrolet e Honda are winning over customers who are curious about electric cars.
Honda's future in the electric market
The Prologue may be more expensive than the average U.S. car, but newer Chevrolet models like the Equinox e Blazer, were even more accessible, attracting almost 18.000 buyers in the last quarter. With the Prologue, Honda is positioning itself to be a significant force in the electric vehicle market, offering consumers a reliable and value-for-money alternative.
"Honda is showing that it can compete with the big boys, and the Prologue is just the beginning of that journey!โWith its innovative strategy and products, Honda is poised to challenge Teslaโs leadership and capture a larger share of the electric car market.
