Petrobras Stocks Led The Market On Tuesday, 11/23. Check Data To Verify If It’s Still Worth Investing In The Oil Company
The stocks of Petrobras and Braskem led the highs of the Ibovespa this Tuesday. The increases were around 5.2% and 6.2%, respectively.
The main reasons pointed out by experts are: the rise in the price of oil, which continues to rise, despite the announcement of the sale of strategic reserves by several countries. Today, the price of oil has already increased by more than 3%, and Brent crude was sold for US$82.33.

In other words, there is a chance that those buying these stocks during the rise, hoping for even more appreciation after this sale, will simply lose money.

How Are These Stocks Performing This Year?
Despite the optimistic sentiment and historic dividend payments, Petrobras stocks are not in positive territory for the year 2021.
At this moment, the stocks of the Brazilian oil company have accumulated a 3.84 percent decline in the year 2021, although this forecast, when looking at just the last 6 months, accumulates a 5.34% increase, which is positive for 2022.
Unlike Petrobras, those who invested in Braskem during the year 2021 had considerable gains, as in the accumulated year of 2021, the stock value showed an increase of 114.65%, but in compensation, in the values of the last 6 months there was a 0.95% decrease in value, which may signify a slowdown in the climb.

Is It Still Worth Investing in Petrobras Stocks?
This is a question that market volatility prevents from being answered definitively. Still, there is some information that can be used as positive or negative aspects regarding this investment.
Although it does not pay dividends as massive as, for example, Vale, Petrobras will still make another dividend payment this year, totaling R$ 31.6 billion. It is important to remember that at this moment, most of Petrobras’ shares are owned by the government, meaning a large part of this amount will be added to public coffers.
What is expected is that everyone remains positive, especially with the hope that the federal government can carry forward the privatization process of Petrobras, which faces difficulties in passing through parliament.
