Technological Innovation Elevates Renewable Energy Production
Albioma, a renowned renewable energy producer, has taken a significant step towards innovation and energy efficiency in Brazil, successfully implementing artificial intelligence technology provided by iSystems. This technological advancement has led to significant improvements in the biomass energy generation process, including reduced process variability and increased energy export.
Enhanced Efficiency in Energy Cogeneration
Albioma, which has stood out in the production of electrical and thermal energy from renewable sources such as biomass, solar, and geothermal energy, has implemented the innovative automation technology from iSystems on its drill ship Norbe IX. This development aims to improve efficiency and safety in drilling by automating operations on the drill floor.
“Heitor Gioppo, COO of Foresea, emphasized the importance of this technology for the industry, highlighting that automated processes allow for simulations and anticipations of all possible scenarios”, underscoring Brazil’s pioneering role in deep-water oil extraction.

Brazil had been escaping unscathed from the coral bleaching that was devastating reefs worldwide, but that’s over: Maragogi, Natal, and Salvador have already recorded mass mortality, and the oceanographer from the Coral Vivo Project says that the country now faces an unprecedented level of problem.
Implementation of Automation Technology
Albioma applied the Leaf solution from iSystems, an advanced artificial intelligence for multivariable process control, resulting in more efficient energy generation. “iSystems’ technology brought more stability and control to the process, reducing variability and improving setpoints, which increases benefits”, said Paulo Schmidt, Corporate Operations Manager at Albioma. The implementation reduced pressure variability by 48% and temperature variability by 30%, optimizing parameters and significantly improving steam quality.
Positive Impacts and Significant Advances
Danilo Halla, Co-CEO of iSystems, highlighted the company’s mission to increase efficiency in the industry. “Leaf uses AI for intelligent process control, acting in each sector in a personalized way. The tool provides reduced variability, saves time and money, enabling equipment to operate always under the best operational conditions”, explained Halla.
About iSystems and Its Advances
Founded in 2007, iSystems has established itself as a leader in AI-based solutions for the industry. The company is recognized for its innovative software, Leaf, focused on providing greater control and optimization of processes, as well as Calix, software that makes demand forecasts also through AI. Its efforts have been recognized with the Top 100 Open Scale-ups 2023 award in Latin America, highlighting its commitment to industry evolution and environmental sustainability.
