The unit will have a production capacity of up to 500 million bottles per year for brands such as Stella Artois, Becks, and Spaten. The expectation is that the new factory will supply other Ambev breweries in various states, not just those located in Paraná.
As announced by Ambev, the production of glass bottles at the new factory will utilize recycled glass collected through partnerships with reverse logistics companies and cooperatives.

Sustainable Appeal
In addition to recycled glass bottles, Ambev aims to extend its sustainable appeal to other sectors of its factories. This will be done through the use of renewable electricity and preparation to operate with biofuels. In addition to these measures, a station will also be built to treat wastewater generated and to reuse water used in the production process.
According to Ambev, currently, the glass factory that works with the highest percentage of recycled material in Brazil is the company’s first glass factory, inaugurated in 2008 in Rio de Janeiro. In 2021, the factory produced the country’s first 100% recycled glass bottle, an initiative that influenced the construction of the new glass facility in the State of Paraná.
Ambev also stated that all production is in line with the company’s goal of having 100% of its products in returnable packaging or made predominantly from recycled content by 2025. “The new glass factory will drive a more sustainable future. This innovation will positively impact the entire reverse logistics ecosystem,” said Rodrigo Figueiredo, Vice President of Sustainability and Supplies at Ambev.
New Jobs
The expectation is that the new glass factory in Paraná will create approximately 1,500 new jobs during construction. The investment was formalized along with the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior, as well as government representatives and Ambev executives.
In addition to the new recyclable glass factory, Ambev already has a Brewery and a Malting Plant with a low-carbon concept in the city of Ponta Grossa, Paraná, and in Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul. Over the past five years, the two facilities have reduced greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere by 90% until total neutrality.
