The flood that hit New South Wales, Australia, at the end of May, brought destruction to many families. However, for Layla Philipson and her family, the disaster also brought an unusual surprise.
During a search along the coast after the waters receded, Layla came across a fridge among the debris scattered along Shoalhaven Heads beach, about 70 kilometers from her home. The scene caught her attention immediately.
As she approached, she realized that the appliance looked very familiar. She then decided to open it. To her surprise, inside the fridge were still the beers she had left before the flood.

But the sequence of curious findings didn’t stop there. At another moment during her searches, Layla found a live cow on Old Bar beach, located on the north coast of New South Wales.
The animal had been swept by the floodwaters a distance of 17 kilometers to the spot where it was found.
The image of the cow lying on the sand was captured by Layla and later shared in the Facebook group called Taree Community Noticeboard, drawing the attention of local community members.
