In Curaçá, Bahia, the drilling narrated by Rogério Oliveira from the channel ROGÉRIO OLIVEIRA – POÇOS ARTESIANOS followed the arrival of the machines, the first signs of moisture, the suspicion of an underground cave, and the owner’s decision to advance up to 60 meters to ensure water in a small farm.

The drilling of an artesian well in a small farm in Curaçá, Bahia, ended with relief for the owner and the team involved in the service. The story was narrated on the channel ROGÉRIO OLIVEIRA – POÇOS ARTESIANOS, on YouTube, following step by step the arrival of the machines, the first meters drilled, the change of rocks, and the expectation until the confirmation that the well was not dry.

Trucks arrive at the site and begin preparation

The work began with the arrival of the trucks from the company responsible for the drilling. One of the vehicles was already positioned on the site, while another arrived with equipment to start the service.

Before the machine started drilling, the team made the final adjustments at the chosen point. The generator was prepared, the equipment was positioned, and the professionals organized the structure to start the work.

The drilling took place in Curaçá, a Bahian city near Juazeiro, Bahia, and Petrolina, Pernambuco. The service began around 9:20 in the morning, with the expectation of initially reaching 50 meters deep.

First meters already indicated a change in the soil

Right in the first 5 meters, the drill reached rock. The initial material identified was a type of shale, but then marble appeared, which increased the team’s expectations.

During the narration, Rogério Oliveira explained that in places where there is marble, there is usually greater ease in finding water. At each new stage, a 5-meter rod was replaced to allow the drilling to advance.

The casing pipe was also introduced, with care to maintain the proper structure. The team had to cut part of the pipe, which was longer than necessary, before continuing with the service.

Use of Equipment and Precautions During Drilling

During the work, Rogério highlighted the use of Personal Protective Equipment by the professionals. According to him, in videos from other companies, some people criticize when workers appear without the appropriate equipment.

In the case shown, the team was praised for performing the service with care and protection. The drilling continued with the exchange of rods, introduction of pipes, and adjustments at the wellhead.

At a certain point, a tire was placed to help direct the water, earth, and dust coming out of the hole. The measure served to reduce the impact of the material thrown during drilling on the operators.

Small Fissures Increased the Expectation for Water

With 10 meters drilled, the machine encountered a small fissure in the rock. The passage showed moisture, but it was not yet enough to expel water.

The narration showed the growing expectation with each change in the machine’s noise. Rogério explained that changes in sound can indicate a fracture in the rock, a change in material, or even the presence of a vein with water.

The dust decreased at some moments, and the material coming out of the well began to show signs of moisture. Even so, the water still did not appear with enough force to confirm the success of the drilling.

Pasty Material and Suspected Underground Cave

Between 35 and 40 meters, the team noticed a new change in the material removed. The earth began to come out more pasty, as if the moisture was forming small clumps on the ground.

At another moment, a rod descended quickly, raising the suspicion of a small underground cave. Despite this, the water was still not being expelled continuously.

The team continued the work to clear the doubt. The drilling proceeded with caution, observing the behavior of the machine, the dust, and the water that appeared in small quantities.

Well Reaches 50 Meters, but Owner Authorizes to Continue

Upon reaching close to 45 meters, Rogério reported that the well already had water, but in small quantities. He commented that some small veins were found, still insufficient to consider the result fully satisfactory.

The initial contract was to drill 50 meters. However, after reaching this depth, the owner authorized an additional 10 meters of drilling, taking the well to 60 meters.

The decision was made because there was still hope of improving the amount of water. During the process, the team continued observing signs of a possible cave, which could be hindering the water’s exit through the pipe.

Water appears during the final cleaning

In the final phase, the team performed the well cleaning with the machine itself. It was at this moment that the water appeared more clearly, confirming that the drilling did not end in a dry well.

Rogério stated that the water was fresh and was even tasted on site. Although it was not a well with a large volume, the result was considered sufficient to meet the property’s needs.

The estate was approximately 1 hectare and was being set up for events. As highlighted in the narration, without water it would be difficult to maintain the space’s operation.

Result was considered positive for the property

At the end of the drilling, Rogério Oliveira thanked the followers who watched the video and reinforced that the well did not remain dry. According to him, the amount of water found was not large, but it could help with the basic needs of the small estate.

The story ended with a sense of relief. After 60 meters drilled, rod changes, changes in rock type, suspicion of a cave, and much anticipation, the water appeared.

The case shows how drilling an artesian well involves technique, patience, and uncertainty. Even with positive signs along the way, confirmation only came at the end, when the cleaning revealed that there was enough water to make the well useful.
