Man Takes Radical Action and Sets His Own Car on Fire in Pacajá After Losing the Keys; Situation Ended Without Injuries.
A man set his own car on fire after losing the ignition key in Pacajá, in the southwest of Pará. The incident occurred on the night of last Sunday (9), in front of witnesses, outside a bar in the outskirts. Despite the scare caused, no one was injured.
What Happened?
According to reports, the owner of the vehicle was consuming alcoholic beverages on the premises. When he decided to leave, he realized he had lost the key. After searching unsuccessfully, he became upset and publicly declared that he would set the vehicle on fire and buy another one.
A few minutes later, following through on his threat, he used a lighter and set fire to his own car. Quickly, the flames consumed the vehicle completely. Bystanders recorded everything on video, which soon went viral on social media.

The man’s extreme action drew a lot of attention among the city’s residents. On social media, there were plenty of ironic comments and criticisms about the incident. One witness wrote: “Yes, it was him, just because he lost the key.” Another user reinforced with irony: “Pure vodka. Tomorrow he’ll realize the loss.”
Despite the light-hearted tone of some comments, the episode raised concerns about public safety and the risks associated with alcohol consumption coupled with a lack of emotional control.
So far, there is no information on any legal consequences faced by the vehicle owner or if local authorities opened any type of formal investigation into the case.
The incident continues to reverberate in the city, standing out for the unusual reaction caused solely by the loss of an ignition key.
