Free and Certified Courses at IFSP
The initiative includes short and medium-term training aimed at the community and education professionals. There are four offerings in total.
The Intermediate Libras course has 32 hours and will be held in person in Cotia, restricted to teachers and technicians from the municipal and state networks of the municipality.
For those who are just starting, the Introduction to Libras course is 100% online, with 20 hours, and is open to the public.
In the field of foreign languages, IFSP offers two classes of the program E-TEC Languages without Borders: English – Module I and Spanish – Module I.
Both have 200 hours and take place in EAD mode, with activities in a virtual learning environment.
The content prioritizes vocabulary building, reading, and basic communication, aligned with academic and professional demands.
Who Can Participate in IFSP Courses
The prerequisites vary according to the course.
The Intermediate Libras course is exclusive to teachers and educational technicians from the municipal and state public networks in Cotia, upon proof of qualification.
The Introduction to Libras accepts interested individuals starting from 16 years old, without requiring prior experience.
For English – Module I and Spanish – Module I, participation is recommended for high school, technical education, undergraduate, and graduate students, as well as public servants and other interested individuals.
In these two cases, it is necessary to have intermediate-level computer skills and access to a computer with internet, as classes and activities are conducted online.
Positions, Quotas, and Candidate Selection
The public notice provides for 40 spots per course, totaling 160 spots.
There is a reserve of 5% for people with disabilities and 25% for self-declared black, brown, and indigenous candidates.
The selection is non-eliminatory and follows the chronological order of registration.
Candidates who meet the prerequisites and attach the documentation correctly will be automatically enrolled until all spots are filled.
Course Workload and Certification
The courses have workloads ranging between 20 and 200 hours, with EAD classes and in-person offerings in the case of the Intermediate Libras course.
The didactic organization of the modules includes the use of a virtual platform, proprietary materials, and guidance from IFSP teachers.
At the end, those who meet the attendance, deadlines, and activities will receive a continuing education certificate recognized by the Federal Institute, a document that can be used for proving complementary hours in teaching and continuing education programs.
Objectives and Target Audience of the Formations
The proposal is to expand access to linguistic education and promote qualification opportunities at no cost for the community.
In the E-TEC courses of English and Spanish, the focus is on text comprehension, essential vocabulary, and initial interactions, with pathways supporting from students seeking academic reinforcement to professionals needing basic work skills.
The Libras classes serve both beginners—with introductory content on communication and deaf culture—and education professionals in Cotia who wish to deepen their practice at the intermediate level.
Inclusion and Accessibility Policies
IFSP adopts affirmative action policies in the offered positions, highlighting the percentages allocated to PwDs and PPI.
Additionally, the EAD courses are designed to expand territorial reach, allowing participation from diverse audiences that have internet access and compatible computers with the educational resources used.
Disclosure of Results and Registration
The announcement of classification will occur on the institutional website of IFSP, according to the schedule of Public Notice No. 100/2025.
Selected candidates must follow the guidelines for registration and the start of classes on the same page, where updates and official announcements will also be available.
In case of doubts, candidates should consult the institutional channels of the campus responsible for the chosen course.
Free Training and Capacity-Building Opportunities
The offering includes free, certified training with significant workload in foreign languages and in Libras, an essential area for inclusive communication.
By combining EAD classes and in-person options and adopting simplified selection, IFSP broadens access and facilitates those who need to reconcile study and work.
The combination of structured content, teacher support, and official certification makes the courses a concrete opportunity to develop language skills with academic and professional application.
How to Register for IFSP Courses
The process is entirely online. Interested individuals should access the official form, choose the desired course, verify the prerequisites, fill out the registration form, and attach ID, CPF, and the necessary documents.
The classification considers the date and time of submission of the valid registration. Inconsistencies may result in the candidate being disqualified or having the registration denied, with the possibility of correction according to campus guidelines.
Registrations will remain open until October 22, 2025, and the classification list will be published by October 24 on the IFSP website.
