The announcement no. 11/2025 from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), in partnership with the Open University of Brazil (UAB), has opened registrations for the Specialization in Computational Mathematics in Basic Education.

There are 150 VACANCIES distributed across in-person centers throughout the state, aimed at teachers and professionals who wish to strengthen their skills and obtain a lato sensu postgraduate degree in a strategic area of education.

Objective of the Online Course and Workload

The free course aims to train education professionals and related fields to apply Computational Mathematics in basic education, expanding the teaching methodologies and the technological proficiency of participants.

The selection process is exclusive to the Specialization Course in Computational Mathematics in Basic Education, offered for free by UFPA in partnership with UAB.

The announcement provides for 150 vacancies, with 10 reserved for people with disabilities (PwD). The distribution is as follows:

Ananindeua-PA Center: 28 vacancies + 2 PwD
Breves-PA Center: 28 vacancies + 2 PwD
Salinópolis-PA Center: 28 vacancies + 2 PwD
Igarapé Miri-PA Center: 28 vacancies + 2 PwD
Juruti-PA Center: 28 vacancies + 2 PwD

How the Selection Process Works

The selection will be made based on the curriculum analysis of the candidates, using criteria that consider professional performance, academic publications, and participation in scientific events.

The score can reach 100 points, and candidates with the highest scores will be ranked in descending order until all vacancies are filled.

In case of a tie, criteria such as length of public or private service and age of 60 years or older will prevail. In case of withdrawals, other approved candidates will be called within the enrollment period.

Requirements for Enrollment

To participate in the selection process, it is necessary to have completed a bachelor’s degree in Teaching, Bachelor’s Degree or Technology recognized by the MEC.

At the time of enrollment, the candidate must attach documents such as ID, CPF, proof of residence, diploma or certificate of completion, updated resume, and proof of payment of the fee of R$ 75.00 (or declaration of exemption).

Additionally, as this is a ONLINE COURSE, it is essential to have access to a computer, internet, and other digital resources that allow for the following of academic activities.

Enrollments

Enrollments must be done exclusively online, between August 1 and October 1, 2025, on the SIGAA/UFPA portal. Approved candidates will receive a lato sensu postgraduate certificate, valid throughout the national territory.
