Presenter Luciano Huck is negotiating the purchase of Will Bank, a digital bank controlled by Banco Master, in partnership with a group of investors.

The information was revealed this Friday, in a report from Folha de São Paulo.

According to sources close to the case, discussions remain in the early stage.

Huck is one of four interested in the acquisition, which also includes private equity funds and Banco de Brasília.

In April, Will Bank had about 9 million customers. The institution sponsors one of the segments of the show “Domingão com Huck” on TV Globo, called “Willimpíadas”.

Set to premiere on October 12, the attraction will reward the winner with R$ 1 million in gold bars after competitions related to personal finance with 200 participants.

When approached, Huck stated through his advisory that he would not comment on the matter as there is “nothing concrete” at the moment.

Financial Situation and Impact on Banco Master

Founded in 2017 and acquired by Master in 2023, Will Bank closed the first half with R$ 14.4 billion in assets, a loss of R$ 244.7 million, and a net worth of around R$ 300 million, according to data from the Central Bank.

The sale of the digital bank could help reduce Banco Master’s liabilities, controlled by Daniel Vorcaro.

To honor deposits, the institution recently resorted to an emergency line of R$ 4.5 billion from the Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC), which matured on October 1. Even after maturity, negotiations to reduce liabilities continue, focusing on the sale of Will Bank.
