Thus, the new president of Petrobras met with the Governor of the State in the capital, Natal, to discuss future projects in the region.
Jean Paul Prates announced that, in addition to continuing operations in the oil and gas sector, the oil company will present future projects for renewable energy generation in the state.
“Petrobras is a mixed company with the federal government as the largest shareholder and controller. Under this new government, we will resume investments, and in addition to maintaining areas of exploration, production, refining, and marketing, we will add renewable energy activities that will be based in Natal,” Prates emphasized.
Fátima Bezerra, the current Governor of Rio Grande do Norte, highlighted the socioeconomic responsibility of the state-owned company under the new Lula Government towards the state.
She stated that Petrobras’ projects ensure strong economic activity in the region, in addition to fostering various job opportunities for residents.
Moreover, the governor reminded that RN also has a high potential for renewable energy production, which is very advantageous for the company’s operations.
Prates Also Announces the Suspension of State Workers from RN to Other States. Fátima Bezerra Celebrates Continuity of Oil and Gas Operations
In addition to announcing new renewable energy projects in Rio Grande do Norte, Prates informed the Governor that there will be an immediate suspension of the transfer of workers from the state to other states.
“Transfers are suspended. Employees and their families can feel at ease. Petrobras will continue operating in Rio Grande do Norte, where it has been for 50 years, and will increase investments here,” reinforced the new president of Petrobras.
This was a respectful decision towards the workers from Rio Grande do Norte, according to Fátima, as they built the foundation of the company’s projects in RN.
With the confirmation of Petrobras’ continuity in RN, Fátima said that the working committee formed by state and oil company technicians will be reactivated to overcome obstacles and enable processes and investments.
In addition, she will continue to communicate directly with the state-owned company for the development of future renewable energy projects in the area.
Thus, Jean Paul Prates strengthens Petrobras’ relationship with the RN Government and expands the state’s presence beyond the oil and gas market.
