The agreement between Embraer and BNDES strengthens Brazil's presence in the global market and boosts investment generation in the country

The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) promoted a financing of R$ 1,1 billion to export of eight Embraer commercial jets for the American company Azorra. These aircraft, from the E2 family, include the E190-E2 and E195-E2 models, and are scheduled for delivery between December 2024 and 2025. The partnership reinforces Embraer's position in the global market, especially in the aircraft leasing sector, where Azorra stands out, according to the Terra website.

Florida-based Azorra operates in the acquisition and leasing of aircraft for commercial airlines. This is the third financing approved by BNDES for the export of E2 aircraft to the American company, consolidating a strategic relationship that benefits both sides.

Unprecedented insurance modality increases financial security

To ensure the success of the operation, the financing has an innovation: a private credit insurance of the ANPI (Aircraft Non-Payment Insurance) type. This insurance, offered by Itasca MGA, fully covers the credit throughout the period of the operation, minimizing financial risks.

The debt was contracted in dollars, with the conversion to reais made at the time of payments, protecting Embraer's financial flow and generating foreign currency for Brazil. This model not only reinforces the company's international competitiveness, but also guarantees security for investors.

Market impact and investment generation

In addition to strengthening Embraer on the global stage, financing will have direct impacts on the Brazilian economy. It will contribute to the generation and maintenance of highly specialized jobs, in addition to strengthening the presence of companies in Asian markets and in aircraft leasing contracts.

According to Aloizio Mercadante, president of BNDES, the institution has already financed the export of 56 Embraer aircraft in 2024, with sales made to the Americas, Europe and Asia. “The bank supports both commercial jets and innovative initiatives, such as the flying car, which highlights technological production in Brazil,” he said.
