New Funding Round Includes R$ 3.3 Billion in Working Capital for Producers and Companies

The BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development) has just released an emergency credit of R$ 5 billion for the support program for Rio Grande do Sul. This amount aims to strengthen the local economy and help businesses and rural producers recover from recent impacts. Focusing on working capital, a large portion of these resources is reserved for micro and small businesses and rural producers, according to cnnbrasil.

Support for the Agro Sector and Microenterprises

Of the total released, an impressive R$ 3.3 billion is exclusively allocated for working capital for rural producers, agricultural cooperatives, grain merchants, and input suppliers. A significant part of this amount, about R$ 1.5 billion, will be directed to micro and small customers. The idea is for these resources to help cover essential expenses, such as payroll, inventory replenishment, and maintaining operations.

According to the BNDES president, Aloizio Mercadante, the goal is clear: “Financially support the immediate needs of the sector“, facilitating cash flow for businesses and ensuring they can keep their doors open. This joint effort between BNDES and the Federal Government significantly increases the budget to support companies of all sizes, rural producers, and individual entrepreneurs in the state.

BNDES in Partnership with Over 40 Financial Institutions

To facilitate access to this credit, the BNDES has partnered with over 40 financial institutions in the state, including public and private commercial banks, credit cooperatives, and development banks. This way, business owners and rural producers can choose from different financing options to obtain support quickly and accessibly.

Moreover, the development bank has also suspended, for 12 months, the payment of existing loans and extended financing for customers who have suffered from the recent floods. The measure already benefits clients from 464 cities in Rio Grande do Sul, with a total of R$ 11.6 billion in approved emergency credit and over 5,600 operations carried out since June.

FGI PEAC Solidarity Credit Guarantee Fund RS

Another highlight is the activation of the guarantee fund FGI PEAC Solidarity Credit, which offers credit guarantees for micro, small, and medium enterprises in Rio Grande do Sul. This initiative further strengthens the security for banks and cooperatives when granting credit, enabling more entrepreneurs to access the necessary financing to resume their activities.

This new injection of resources by BNDES reinforces its commitment to the Gaúcha economy and puts the state in a better position to face future adversities, maintaining support for the economic and social development of its producers and companies.

For more information on how to access this credit, simply contact one of the partner institutions or reach out directly to BNDES to check the specific requirements for each financing line.
