New Milestone In The Sukhoi Su-75 Fifth Generation Light Fighter Program Attracts Global Attention And Promises Innovation In The Defense Market.
The Sukhoi Su-75 fighter, known as Checkmate, is gaining traction in the global military aviation scene. According to Sergei Korotkov, chief designer and deputy general director of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), the project has reached an encouraging level of readiness. With an innovative concept and the ability to integrate into interconnected systems, the fifth generation light fighter presents a promising future to meet the demands of the international market.
The Sukhoi Su-75 stands out as an advancement in the development of modern combat aircraft. According to Korotkov, the aircraft’s concept goes beyond an isolated plane, betting on a system that connects to other aircraft.
This modular and flexible approach has already attracted the interest of international customers, solidifying the project’s viability. “We are optimistic about the future of Checkmate and its ability to meet market demands,” the executive stated.

Countries Showed Interest In The Sukhoi Su-75 Fighter

During the Egypt International Airshow, held in September 2024, Alexander Mikheev, general director of Rosoboronexport, highlighted that several countries from the Middle East and Africa showed interest in the Sukhoi Su-75 fighter. Mikheev revealed that specific proposals were presented to these partners, strengthening the confidence in the model’s success.
Another important differential of the fifth generation light fighter is its patented modular structure, developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau. This technology allows the aircraft to be adapted for different missions, with options such as single-seat, twin-seat, or even configurations for unmanned use. This versatility promises to reduce operational costs and cater to various customer profiles, ensuring high competitiveness in the market.
Mobilization Of The Engineering Team
Korotkov also emphasized the mobilization of the UAC engineering team, which involves professionals from various divisions of the corporation, such as Tupolev, Ilyushin, and Sukhoi, optimizing resources to accelerate the development of the Sukhoi Su-75 fighter. “This internal policy enables us to respond quickly to demands and drive the project efficiently,” he explained.
With the potential to pave the way for sixth generation aircraft, the Sukhoi Su-75 fifth generation light fighter continues to surprise the market with its innovations. Its flexibility, advanced design, and international appeal solidify its position as one of the most promising bets in the defense industry.
