University of Toronto survey points to a roughly 42% drop in Canadian visits to US cities, impacting tourist destinations, economic centers, and businesses linked to the flow between the two countries

Tourist destinations lost visitors
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, saw the largest drop identified by the study, with approximately 65% fewer Canadian residents returning from the East Coast tourist destination. Yuma, Arizona, followed with a 62% decrease.
San Francisco and the Florida cities of Miami, Palm Bay, and Panama City also ranked among the top 10 American metropolitan areas with a drop of over 50% in Canadian visitors last year.
The authors indicate that the data shows not only a reduction in Canadian holiday travel but also a significant drop in visits to important economic centers. The impact is evident in tourist destinations and business-related areas.
