Therefore, since the beginning of the 2020s, downsizing has gained traction. It combines energy efficiency, consistent performance, and lower consumption, without requiring premium fuel.

Moreover, the technical set stands out for its modern design. The T200 uses direct injection, low-inertia turbocharger, and aluminum block and head. It also adopts a timing chain, a solution that reduces friction and enhances durability. At the same time, the focus is on low-RPM torque. The 20.4 kgfm appears around 1,750 rpm. This range is common for urban usage. As a result, acceleration becomes quicker. Meanwhile, the 130 hp places the engine among the most powerful in its segment.

On Mercado Livre, listings start at R$ 79,990. Typically, these are units from the Audace trim with CVT transmission. According to Inmetro, consumption reaches 10.4 km/l in the city and 13.9 km/l on the highway, using gasoline. With ethanol, it registers 7.2 km/l and 9.9 km/l. Among the features, highlights include digital air conditioning, 8-inch multimedia center, stability and traction controls, and four airbags.

Peugeot 208 Makes Better Use of Low-RPM Torque

Next is the Peugeot 208, unveiled in the current generation in 2020, which benefits from its reduced weight. Thus, it delivers quicker responses in urban traffic. The hatch measures 4.05 meters in length. The wheelbase is 2.54 m. The model uses the CMP platform from the group.

On Mercado Livre, units of the 2024 pre-facelift model are listed starting at R$ 82,990. According to Inmetro, consumption reaches 11.0 km/l in the city and 14.7 km/l on the highway, with gasoline. With ethanol, it achieves 7.7 km/l and 10.4 km/l. These are the best figures among the four models. Launched in Brazil in 2022, the Citroën C3 Turbo 200 also uses the CMP platform. However, the proposal is different. The model measures 4 meters in length. The ground clearance is 18 cm. The softer suspension was designed for uneven surfaces.
