During the event that brought together authorities involved in the Gas Card from the Federal District, Secretary André Clemente emphasized that the program, which will inject millions into the distributors, aims to support needy families and stimulate the cooking gas resale market due to the constant price increases in recent months.

The Secretary also explained that the actions aim not only at financial flow but mainly at the well-being of those who need it most. The President of Sindvargas-DF, Janair Silveira, also spoke about the Gas Card from the Federal District, which will inject millions into the distributors. According to the executive, it is an important program to aid in the growth of companies in this sector through a social action in favor of people most impacted by the pandemic who are still struggling to recover financially.

Janair Silveira also claimed that 80% of cooking gas resellers in the DF consist of small and micro family businesses. According to Silveira, these are people who need the cooking gas sales guaranteed by the government of the Federal District, which will stimulate the sector.

Distributors Can Now Sign Up

Cooking gas distributors wishing to participate in the Gas Card program in the Federal District must register with the Secretary of Economy. It will be necessary, along with the department, to fill out a membership agreement and present all documents requested in Ordinance No. 211, hosted in the benefits menu on the Secretary of Economy’s portal.

Meanwhile, families eligible to receive benefits from the program will be contemplated through a tool issued exclusively by the Bank of Brasília. The final list with the selection of those who can participate in the program will be disclosed on the 31st of this month. The expected date for payments to begin is set for next month in September.
